I have trouble structuring my posts.... I especially have issues with writing overly long sentences XD this is really helpful, something to reflect upon, thank you!

Great tips for writing text. It really improves the readability of text. Structuring text, paragraphs, lists, paragraphs - is the Foundation of readable text. Thank you for your detailed instructive article.

Valuable information to the new and established Steemit poster, I am of course not following any of these guidelines but the first steps in improving yourself is admitting you have a problem. I can of course hide behind the fact my posts on Steemit are a hobby shoe horned in between my full time work and home life, and blame my posting being mostly being made late at night after a full days work for the tardy spelling and grammar. But really I know as much as anyone else that I'm a Bodgit and Scarper throwing together posts with reckless abandon. That's why a post like this is invaluable - simple tips reminding us that just taking a few minutes more to present the content a little better can pay dividends in the long run.

Thanks for reiterating these tips, which may seem simple, but are often times forgotten... Have really been trying to use these 5 tips in some of my posts, but sometimes it's difficult to get some bites... i tend to make long sentences too, i have to make them shorter but the god doesn't allow my hand to do so :P what can i do it's above my powers :P

This is a great refresher, thank you! I feel like Steemit has a diverse audience so it is hard to write on just one topic. The formatting guidelines are great because it keeps us from writing one big paragraph. It reminds me of when I was in grade school and trying to learn what commas are and when to pause. Also, I love photos and illustrations in a post because it keeps things interesting.

Hey @techslut! Happy new year and great tips!

As a somewhat newer steemian, it's been a challenge to pick up the format and learn to make it "purdy" too! *(Also, I haven't tried canva yet! Can't wait to give that a go.)* I was also so happy to learn about how to do some simple markdown to help me out with this stuff.

Wonderful tips..  grammar is essentially the make or break part of your post. No matter how important the message is but if there are grammatical mistakes in it, it is totally unappealing to look at..

I would like to add here that most users tend to use difficult words in their posts in order to grab the audience.. i would strongly advise against it. Use common words instead so that your message / post is understandable for everyone on the platform..

Thanks for the tips! As a straightforward person, my personal struggle in writing was always adding flavour to the texts, without them it's either too short or too boring to read but I believe everyone can do better through experience and practice so thanks for the tips!

Sometimes it's just sheer laziness, if s person truly know they want to blog on a platform as steemit, then they have to sharpen their blogging and writing skills.

Heh, as I started to read your section where you suggest shorter sentences, I was going to mention that I had recently started using the Hemingway app. Then I noticed you mentioned it later in the piece.

It's great at highlighting the fact that my sentences are too long. Yet, still, I often disagree with it. :)
