It is way to easy to think you’re accomplishing something worthwhile when you’re merely busy, just taking up time with activities. In this video I share three key insights to help you achieve the goals you want. You’ll get the ideas on how to be more productive and achieve your goals. I’m also including something special for you here on DTube and Steemit - a transcript of this video. No, it is not perfect and sometimes there are laughable inaccuracies. However, this can help you get more out of the video and I want to do what I can to help you. Please let me know your comments. I look forward to hearing back from you. Terry TerryBrock.com WEBVTT 1 00:00:02.040 --> 00:00:10.440 Are you busy or are you productive. Hi, I'm Terry Brock and I want to talk to you about something very important for achieving not only business but in your personal life also 2 00:00:10.710 --> 00:00:18.960 Too often we just want to be busy you talk to people. How you doing, oh, I'm really busy busy busy busy. Oh, I'm so busy so busy so busy and, you know, 3 00:00:19.320 --> 00:00:27.450 That is really often an excuse. And I think it's a way for us to try to satisfy ourselves and think, if I'm busy. That's the goal. 4 00:00:27.960 --> 00:00:33.840 And we forget that the goal is not to just be busy, but it's to be productive and what we've got to do is focus on 5 00:00:34.350 --> 00:00:45.300 The way Dennis Wheatley, set it to work on not just tension relieving but goal achieving activities so that you do something that is going to be really useful for you. 6 00:00:45.570 --> 00:00:53.580 And something's going to help you to achieve those goals. Well, here's something that has helped me and I found it's helped a lot of others. Tell me what you think in the comments and share this with others. 7 00:00:53.940 --> 00:01:02.040 As you think about I think number one. What you want to do is prioritize hey we've got so many things that we can do today and can 8 00:01:02.520 --> 00:01:10.320 Is a dangerous word. Can you do that. Can you do this. Can you do that over. Hey, there's a bunch of things you can do. But that's not the issue. 9 00:01:11.190 --> 00:01:28.470 Can can be dangerous. What you want to look at is what is most important. You've got to prioritize. I like the way that Warren Buffett says it when he says that really successful people say no 19 times for everyone. Yes, 19 times no 10 00:01:29.790 --> 00:01:34.230 One time, yes. But you know, that's the key. There's so many good things you can do. 11 00:01:34.740 --> 00:01:43.860 And so many here's the real danger you rank them is an A plus activity, or is this an A minus. Is it a CX. Is it a D or worse yet, an F activity. 12 00:01:44.190 --> 00:02:00.930 And what is it that you should focus on in the real dangers, I find, are the B plus activities Hu B plus, they're like an 89% that's really good. You can do well in school hit 99% but it's not 100% 13 00:02:01.440 --> 00:02:10.350 Focus on those A plus activity. So first thing I would say is prioritize find what you can do and prioritize on those. You want to make sure you do that. Secondly, 14 00:02:10.920 --> 00:02:21.090 Focus follow one course until successful. That's the acronym that many of us to define what focuses. I like that. I think it's very good follow one course. 15 00:02:21.570 --> 00:02:32.670 Until successful stay with it really focus on. And now, by the way, talking to you that are like me out there on the internet. You look at something, you go, Oh, there's a link here. That's interesting. Let me look like, oh, this is interesting. 16 00:02:33.000 --> 00:02:40.830 There's a link here. Let me go to that man. There we are. Now, after a while, your way down that rabbit hole of link linking to link slinky to links and you don't get much done. 17 00:02:41.310 --> 00:02:50.520 The real results come as Cal Newport talks about in his books deep work really focus for a long period of time on something very useful. 18 00:02:50.820 --> 00:02:59.970 That sets you apart, by the way, that will give you a competitive advantage for others because so many other people have scattered they're interested in this. Oh, I can do that. I can do this. I can do that. I couldn't do that. I can do that. 19 00:03:00.240 --> 00:03:04.020 They're bouncing all over like ping pong balls and they're not getting a whole lot done 20 00:03:04.440 --> 00:03:14.880 So you want to focus, make sure that you keep doing that. And then second, the third and final one. I want to share with you today, they can help you as you want to keep motivated by focusing on your goal. 21 00:03:15.390 --> 00:03:22.380 There's probably a long term reason why you're doing what you're doing and you want to focus on that. 22 00:03:22.740 --> 00:03:28.050 Focus on the benefit. I'm going to get. I'm going to help this person. I'm going to be able to achieve these goals here. I'm going to 23 00:03:28.350 --> 00:03:33.630 Do this. I'm going to make this much money, I'm going to be able to buy this to help these people, whatever it is for you. 24 00:03:34.560 --> 00:03:42.060 Keep that goal in mind. Let that be what drags you out of bed in the morning when your body is saying, Yeah, give us a little bit more sleep today. 25 00:03:42.480 --> 00:03:44.910 When you know you need to get up. You've got to say. 26 00:03:45.570 --> 00:03:52.890 I need some sleep, but I need to get up and then the next night go to bed a little bit earlier, figure out a way to get some sleep during the day, maybe a nap or something. 27 00:03:53.160 --> 00:03:59.370 But keep that goal in my mind. So number one, prioritize knowing you can't do everything you want to keep focused on that. 28 00:03:59.700 --> 00:04:04.770 Secondly, you want to focus, make sure that you focus to really get the job done. And third, 29 00:04:05.220 --> 00:04:14.700 Keep motivated by focusing on that goal. See what it is, how you can do it and you're going to be able to achieve the goals you want. Hey, let me know what you think. I'm out here on the road right now. 30 00:04:15.150 --> 00:04:21.510 Bouncing around here in our neighborhood, though. You can see some of the place I just kind of place here when we had pretty good bandwidth. I'm using my 31 00:04:21.900 --> 00:04:28.260 IPhone or not my iPhone use my Android on this one using my note eight and enjoying it enormously. So, but I'm checking 32 00:04:28.530 --> 00:04:32.190 The speed to see what it's like. First, before I do it because I send it up to zoom 33 00:04:32.460 --> 00:04:41.520 And so great little tool for that day. I do want to hear from your please please subscribe here, follow us. And we've got room for a few more up votes for those of you that are over on steam it 34 00:04:41.820 --> 00:04:49.080 Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks so much for joining me and I will hope you get a chance to achieve your goals. Very good quote from Einstein. It is most important to have ACTION, not just thinking and reading. Yes, they are important. But, we have to take action. Thank you for your comment.

Really resonate with this... I've often felt like I'm just running around and 'putting out fires' during the day... but at the end of the day, it doesn't feel like I've done much at all! Would be much better to find what's truly important and F.O.C.U.S. on that... I've never been much of a goal setter up to this point in my life but I think I'm starting to finally be 'a believer...' Without goals it's hard to know what really matters.

Good for you, @synrg. We all go through what you're describing. And you are right, it is about F.O.C.U.S. like I said in the video. Thank you for your kind words and for stopping by.
