How my activity on Steemit is hurting the Not-a-Lottery

By accident I stumbled across the recent drama surrounding @jrcornel in a [post](https://leofinance.io/@edicted/jrcornel-being-flagged-to-zero) by @edicted. I was confident that this does not really effect me since I do original content on both platforms and I also have always been on the good side of @berniesanders... ehm I mean @trumpman :)

Well I thought this until I had a convo with @onealfa in noise.cash

@trumpman alone sponsors about half of the Not-a-Lottery and @onealfa actually put some LEO into the pot as well over the past days. Losing this support would be a heavy hit. Also having to expect similar behavior from other LEO whales and even the threat of downvotes if my lottery ever gets big made me really sad.

## My reason to stay on Steemit

Yes, I know about the hostile takeover that seems to be actually a case for a court. However it is also a lot of hear-say to me since I was inactive for almost 3 years. It was the people there who told me about hive. I have a good friend there called @meins0815 and I talk to him on a regular basis. So far nobody judged me for also being active on hive or Leo.

I actually do a lot more casual and usually German posts there. Also sometimes just a Youtube Video with 2 sentences as comment aka shitposting. On hive and especially Leo I try to make the more polished posts that I want an international audience to read.

## The future of the Not-a-Lottery

I am proud of how I was able to develop the Not-a-Lottery from 5 regular participants to now almost 20. And I am thankful to @onealfa and @trumpman, but also @no-advice and many others for supporting my project. And the most important thing, I am having fun doing this even though it is quite the copy&paste hustle. If I have no chance of ever getting high payouts on my lottery, due to my activity on Steemit, I might take my business to another hive frontend. I don't want to bet on the hive price that is much too lame I need a community token. It might also be a good time to cancel the project, I made the same as "the Fund for better art", so far and have invested 15 Leo into the project. But I really want to hear what @trumpman has to say about this, he is our biggest supporter and a whale, who might give some insight on what the other whales think/say/do. I am sure most of my smaller supporters do not really care too much, but ofc I want listen to all your opinions. Comments are open!

## I can (not) understand

I can only try to understand how it feels to be heavily invested in a project like hive, Steemit or LEO and then have incident like the Justin Sun one. I can see why you want to retaliate, however I think you should really look case-by-case who you want to retract support from or even threaten to downvote.

## A peace offering

Welp, we just got votes from @trumpman, so I guess my concerns were baseless and we can just continue, yay! However if there is value in me doing a creative break on Steemit, I would ask: How much? :) The Not-a-Lottery would surely grow faster if we had higher price pools and the visuals will get better when I can hire some artists. Every man has his price :D

Well, the drama is deeper. Even if I'm a capitalist with a free market approach, I understand some of the discussion if someone is milking Hive to invest in Steem. I'm not doing it, on the contrary, I milk Steem to invest in Hive where I dump all on the exchanges or on HE and buy Hive, Leo and other projects. By this I think it is much better than a full dump once. Draining is more costly on the long run. 

I think flag wars are mostly overreactions and a lot can be solved by dialogue with a clear head. Simple as this.

I actually do the same old 'Sell my SBD/HBD, hodl Steem/hive' on both platforms. Leo I invested a 100$ and hodled all my rewards so far, but I might do a fifty-fifty split here as well in the future.

I actually first time used the power down function to have some hive for dcity, just so I can get taxed for 75% of my SIM now... It is also a bad look having this dispute while I first time try the power down function :D.

I think downvoting overvalued stuff is nice and dandy, but why does it always has to be a witch hunt with downvotes to 0?

Like said, it is my money, and I want to use it wisely. Clear there are moral issues, that is why I milk it to the bitter end and as strong as it can get and use that to reinvest. 

I did the same, some PD for DCity, but the value remained on the chain.

I can't say why it is always to be a mob, without having a normal discussion first.

Every rule comes (usually) with exceptions.

But DV are still on the list, if I see abnormally high rewards on authors who actively advocate/promote steem in Hive/Leo space

thanks mate, your support is very appreciated. I will hola @friendlymoose first thing tomorrow to discuss some art for the Not-a-Lottery, Lion themed of course ;)

I hope the honey will attract some new bees to the Not-a-Lottery and it will surely make the ones already in the loop quite excited!

So should I say goodbye to my Steemit friends? I have thought about it and having one successful project on a chain would be more important to me than doing random posts about politics and series on both chains. I still think I would prefer the natural way of me losing interest in Steemit over time because Leo and hive just become so much better.

One thing I might wanna add: The Not-a-Lottery is meant to give rewards to small and medium active users. If there are users hostile to the chain by ie draining it, I have no problem to exclude them from my Not-a-Lottery. I think this should also be a case-by-case judgment. I might add this to the rules, but I would really like to keep it to the severe cases, not some kid who is dumping his hive to have a few bucks irl.

there are many reasons he got flagged. I dont care if you repost on steemit or what you do with your money.  ALthough I prefer (and will support more) if you first post something on leo and then repost it on steemit (with a link to leo) for seo reasons

But yeah, dumping leo/hive to buy steem WHEN YOU KNOW JS stole money from other peeps is reason enough.

Thanks for clarifying, I was afraid alfaone was talking for the whole lion whale pack, but I guess if it is just him I will just continue with what I did so far. Sad to have lost his support though. 

Right now I have not mentioned the Not-a-Lottery on Steemit yet, would it be better if I do? (for seo reasons)
