It has been almost a year since I started staking and Liquidity Mining on [Cake Defi](https://app.cakedefi.com/staking). So I thought it might be time for me to make a summary of my gains, losses, headaches and happy moments. Well, all in all the rather safe DeFi projects I selected so far have been slower than most of your idle games out there.


# Julian Hosp's Cake DeFi

Julian Hosp is a well known and respected figure in the German Crypto Community. I don't like him that much but I respect the fact that he is respected by so many and I think he has the heart at the right place.

I will mainly focus on his project Cake DeFi since I have been part of it the longest, I have the most money in it and the site offers some interesting data. It is still an amount I don't mind sharing. I also think it is a good DeFi for beginners, you don't need to install any wallets, the options you have a rather well explained, no overload on information/gimmicks.

Sadly I did not make any notes on my deposits but I bought roughly 70 DeFi for 2$ a piece, I pretty much instantly went into Liquidity Mining using all of my LTC (1) and a little ETH. I temporary also mined with Doge but it got unprofitable very fast. I added BCH (0.1) about 6 months later, but somehow I made the same profits with it. That is really weird to me since BCH always has roughly the same APR as ETH and LTC.

In the beginning I was staking my gains from Liquidity Mining every 12 hours, but now I am lazy and only stake every week. Bottom line I have 150 DeFi in staking and 80 in LP Mining with the Coin sitting at around 4.50$. I lost about 40$ worth of ETH due to impermanent loses in the Mining (ETH went Broom). So I am at about 1000$ made from 150$ over a year. That is not bad... no bad at all I would say. Well, if you count the other Cryptos I put into mining my investment was quite a bit higher, but still I am happy and hope it continues to go well. The price of DeFi also just recently started pumping a little after being quite dormant - or you could say stable - over 2021.

# Biswap

It is the only place where you can swap the bonus Tokens BFG I get from my Casino, so yeah, there is at least a use case. I put 80$ in about 6 months ago, now I have 208$ just due to APR on the Token, price has fluctuated between 0.5 and 2 Dollar with me going in at 1$ and price now being 1.01$.

More than 100% profits, very nice. There is a lot of stuff you can do on https://biswap.org/ but most of it does not make sense to me, I don't like that.

# Cub DeFi

I will not talk much about Cub. It was bad. Luckily I was never really excited about the project and therefore only invested very little. I still hope there will be a second spring for Cub because having the only bad experience with DeFi so close to my home blockchain Hive would be kind of shameful.

# Jade protocol

Buddy @manniman just introduced the latest thing in DeFi to me: having absurdly high APYs. Very high risk high reward. I just aped into it, but it looks sus as hell.
