[CONCERN] I have a problem with Steemit. Help me understand

<p>Hey Everyone,</p>
<p>If you've read any of my posts you will see that I really love the Steemit platform. I do have a big concern though. </p>
<p>I know Steemit is still in it's infancy but I have a fear that it will become a website with no real direction other than for people to make money. At the moment the site is full of stories, introductions, random musings and questions. So what really is Steemit? Is it a Blog platform? A question and answer site? Something else?</p>
<p>You see, I can see Steemit becoming a place for spammers and people posting garbage trying to make the odd buck. I would hate for it to become a place that has no real direction and eventually becomes abandoned because there is nothing of real quality to read.</p>
<p>What's your thoughts?</p>

votes are more important than money. Some people will give you their vote randomly, some of them will actually read your post and like it! thousands of post every day, there must be some upvoted garbage!

I think so far there are less idiots on Steemit than facebook; plus who cares anyways ???
Simply we will visit and like surfing Steemit or else we will leave and do other things with our lives...
Steem will either build a reputation or not with or without many of us, we can be here or we can just mindlessly play cards solitaire with our free time.
Personally I make more gold in steem than anywhere else i surf on the internet; but the greatest thing about steemit ???
I get to play the stock market type trading without risking one single dollar of my own real gold...
