The Minnow Builder Program is the solution that allows just this with purchase of shares which provides shareholders a lifetime daily upvote plus a community building/charitable benefit. Each share not only gives you a daily upvote for life, but also gives daily upvotes to plankton who are chosen as Minnows in Training. That means if you had put in 10sp when MinnowBuilder started on 09/08/2018 you would today be getting a daily vote that is equal to a single vote from a 134.97sp account. 

Now let's play devils advicate and say that everyone starts posting daily so we need to lower this upvote to the minimum guaranteed upvote. What would the math look like then? Well as we are just giving a 100% bonus (doubling) to the minimum vote right now it's easy to do the math. We just need to cut the above in half to get the least you would be guaranteed each day. So 10sp put in on 09/08/2018 currently has a minimum guaranteed upvote value of 67.48sp, or 6.748sp per steem invested.

### For You: Share Value
If you purchase share with Steem then you own your shares which each are an ownership stake in the account. That means all growth is split between all current shareholders not only in increased votes, but also in share value if someone decides to leave the program. Lets look at those numbers:

This is a little different then how say SBI does their sales and may seem confusing, but it's because of the fact that current shareholders own their shares and the account growth. See if MinnowBuilder was keeping all the growth then it's easy to say all shares are X steem and just send the steem whenever you want, but when the shares grow in value this needs to be adjusted so current shares purchased are for the same value as current shares are worth. This protects the growth for current shareholders and keeps vote values increasing.

Just a quick simple example, if the account had 100 shares worth $1.50 each and we didn't raise the price to match and a new sale happened for 50 shares at $1 the account would now have $200 for 150 shares or only $1.33 per share. That clearly isn't fair to the current shareholders and the new buyer got a huge bonus for coming in late.
