Video games have had a lot of impact on people in recent times, within this great massive wave of an entertainment medium, we have great video game sagas that I would dare to say are immortal. Within the great variety we have: **"The Legend of Zelda", "Mortal Kombat", "Mario", "Castlevania,"Metroid "**and many others. But one that has been characterized by being peculiar among all is **“Metal Gear”**, which saw its beginnings in *1987*, and which has managed to have a place in the hearts of many people. His latest installment: **"Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain"**, is by far the most ambitious of the saga that stops being a *"linear"* game to become an overwhelming open world that leaves it to your imagination how to finish a mission .

**Metal Gear Solid V** is a great game, it is a majestic, huge action adventure, and in some moments, overwhelming, a world with a lot of detail and that surprises you with its incredible graphic and playable quality. With this I am not saying that it is the best of the saga, since that depends on other factors to take into account, but without a doubt, as a **Metal Gear** game it was never so complete, with an intuitive and polished gameplay, and with such well-designed controls returning to **The Phantom Pain** is a machine for hours of entertainment.

This installment in the saga is a turn of three hundred and sixty degrees, after how cinematic **Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots** was, **Kojima** needed to lower the level of cinematics a bit in his next **Metal Gear** because this did not like much to the people (*personally it didn't bother me*). In **The Phantom Pain** what is pressing is the gameplay above many things. Unlike the other **Metal Gear** where we witnessed the story of **Snake** and were spectators, this fifth numbered installment makes a difference and places us as the protagonist, we are **Big Boss**; It's views is very important, because it explains some design decisions. We have, possibly, the quietest **Snake** in the saga that he prefers to see before giving his opinion, and we have less abundant and slightly shorter cutscenes.

The story in this **Metal Gear** leaves the abundant cinematics to take other types of narrative resources to tell us the details we need to know about this new story. As always tells us a complex and tangled plot, but they offer us great freedom at the time of understanding it, through secondary missions, eavesdropping on the soldiers talking, cassettes and other methods, we will not find out about the plot that moves this **Metal Gear**. I don't think it tells much about the story, I might miss a few details out there, so read carefully from here on. As always in all good **Metal Gear**, the story has a lot of surprises, first of all it is not necessary for them to play **Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker** since it is not essential to understand the argument; but I think it is more than obvious and almost mandatory to have played **Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes**, the prologue of the events in **The Phantom Pain**.

**The Phantom Pain** has different layers of depth and we are responsible for how deep we will go. Depending on how familiar we are with the saga, we will understand a surprising variety of winks and references, but we do not have to expect a great gala of characters from the previous games because if not, they are going to be a little disappointed. We only have those who are necessary for this story, and it's a good point, because it shows that **Kojima** wanted to give a different approach to this adventure and not make a story for fans. Something curious that I found, was an air of series that the missions transmitted, placing credits at the beginning and at the end of it.

Making it clear that the story lives up to the name of the game, in the section that stands out the most **Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain** is in the gameplay, I know I have already said this a few times but it is true. An open-world action and espionage game, where the creator and his team unleash the player's imagination to complete a mission, within the limitations of the same theme. And believe me when I say that we can do a mission with anything we can think of.

I would dare to say that what is currently mostly in the video game market are open worlds, and it is as if almost all developers want to adapt different genres to the open world. Although I like the idea of ​​the previous **Metal Gears** more, I have to admit that the open world fit almost perfectly in this latest installment of the saga; The open world of **The Phantom Pain** designs new challenges and opportunities, and this is something the game takes advantage of to the last drop. When I say that we have our imagination and the theme of the game as a limit, or I say it because we can take advantage of every factor of the scenario; For example, the *NPC* changing of the guard, in daylight we will be more visible and at night we will camouflage ourselves better, when we shoot down an *NPC* their companions will be more alert, we can take advantage of the passage of a sand blizzard and even the rain to infiltrate better, and just like these there are many variants that we can generate when playing.

**The Mother Base** is our base of operations and we will have to supply it, it begins as a small base of operations in the middle of the ocean and as we advance in the game and we carry more and more resources it will become a huge fortress. The management will not be a problem for us since we can automate almost any task necessary to improve **The Mother Base**, and also because sending resources in the middle of a mission to the base becomes a bit addictive mechanic.

Personally, I think **Metal Gear** has always tried to take your visuals to the next level, it did it with its third and fourth numbered installments, and obviously it did it with the fifth; Of course, taking into account that it is an intergenerational game, as they had to restrict themselves a bit to be able to launch **The Phantom Pain** on *Playstation3* and *Xbox 360*. The *Playstation 4* version goes 1080p and 60fps a highly enjoyable game with graphic excellence.

Loading times are short, fantastic day and night transition, the weather elements add more immersion when playing, good animations, character design so particular in this saga that when you see them it is a cinematic that can be appreciated with more detail. But like any other video game, not everything is perfect, notice some popping and some textures with less resolution than others. Being an open world of spies as it ends up being that, so at times I felt that the world was empty beyond the military bases themselves.

Los videojuegos han tenido mucha repercusión en la personas en los últimos tiempos, dentro de esta gran ola masiva de un medio de entretenimiento, tenemos grandes sagas de videojuegos que me atrevería a decir que son inmortales. Dentro de la gran variedad tenemos: **“The Legend of Zelda”, “Mortal Kombat”, “Mario”, “Castlevania, “Metroid”** y muchas otras más. Pero una que se ha caracterizado por ser peculiar entre todas es **“Metal Gear”*, que vio sus inicios en *1987*, y que ha logra tener un puesto en los corazones de muchas personas. Su último entrega: **“Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain”**, es de lejos la más ambiciosa de la saga que deja de ser un juego *“lineal”* para convertirse en un mundo abierto abrumador que deja a tu imaginación el cómo terminar una misión.

**Metal Gear Solid V** es un juego grandioso, es una aventura de acción majestuosa, enorme, y en algunos momentos, abrumador, un mundo con mucho detalle y que te sorprende con su increíble calidad gráfica y jugable. Con esto no digo que sea el mejor de la saga, ya que eso depende otros factores a tener en cuenta, pero sin duda alguna, como juego **Metal Gear** nunca fue tan completo, con una jugabilidad intuitiva y pulida, y con controles tan bien diseñados que vuelven a **The Phantom Pain** es máquina de horas de entretenimiento. 

Esta entrega en la saga es un giro de trescientos sesenta grados, después de lo cinematográfico que era Metal **Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots**, **Kojima** necesitaba bajar un poco el nivel de la cinemáticas en su siguiente **Metal Gear** porque esto no gusto mucho a las personas (*en lo personal no me molestó*). En **The Phantom Pain** lo que se apremia es la jugabilidad por encima de muchas cosas. A diferencia de los demás **Metal Gear** donde presenciábamos la historia de **Snake** y éramos espectadores, esta quinta entrega numerada, hace la diferencia y nos coloca como el protagonista, nosotros somos **Big Boss**; es puntos de vista es muy impórtate, porque explica algunas decisiones sobre el diseño. Tenemos, posiblemente, al **Snake** más callado de la saga que prefiere ver antes de opinar, y contamos con cinemáticas menos abundantes y un poco más cortas.

La historia en este **Metal Gear** deja las abundantes cinemáticas para tomar otros tipos de recursos narrativos para contarnos los detalles que necesitamos saber a cerca de esta nueva historia. Como siempre nos cuenta una compleja y enredada trama, pero nos ofrecen una gran libertad al momento de entenderla, mediante misiones secundarias, escuchando a escondidas a los soldados hablar, los casetes y otros métodos más no enteraremos de la trama que mueve a este **Metal Gear**. Luego contamos con una *“historia secundaria”*, la que iremos construyendo nosotros como jugar, debido al mundo abierto, **The Phantom Pain**, nos deja a nuestra imaginación como desenvolvernos en una misión. No porque sea menos cinematográfico signifique que tengamos menos historia, al contrario, nosotros decidimos si queremos más historia.

No creo que cuente mucho sobre la historia, pude que se me escape algún que otro detalle por ahí, así que lean con cuidado de aquí en adelante. Como siempre en todo buen **Metal Gear**, la historia tiene un montón de sorpresas, primero que todo no es necesario que jueguen **Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker** ya que no es primordial para entender el argumento; pero creo que es más que obvio y casi obligatorio haber jugado **Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes**, el prólogo de los acontecimiento en **The Phantom Pain**.

**The Phantom Pain** cuenta distintas capas de profundidad y nosotros somos los responsable de qué tan profundo vamos a llegar. Dependiendo de qué tan familiarizado estemos con la saga, entenderemos una variedad sorprendente de guiños y referencias, pero tampoco tenemos que esperar una gran gala de personajes de los anteriores juegos porque si no, se van a decepcionar un poco.  Solo tenemos a los que son necesarios para esta historia, y es un buen punto, porque se demuestra que **kojima** quiso darle un enfoque diferente a esta aventura y no hacer una historia para fans. Algo curioso que encontré, fue un aire de serie que transmitían las misiones, colocando créditos al comienzo y al final de la misma. 

Dejando en claro que la historia está a la altura del nombre del juego, en el apartado que más sobresale **Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain** es en la jugabilidad, sé que ya he dicho esto unas cuantas veces pero es verdad. Un juego de acción y espionaje mundo abierto, donde el creador y su equipo dan rienda suelta a la imaginación del jugador para terminar una misión, dentro de las limitaciones de la misma temática. Y créanme cuando digo que podemos hacer una misión con cualquier cosa que se nos ocurra.

Me atrevería decir que lo que mayormente hay actualmente en el mercado de videojuegos son los mundos abiertos, y es como si casi todas las desarrolladoras quisieran adaptar distintos géneros al mundo abierto. Aunque me agrade más la idea de los anteriores **Metal Gear**, tengo que reconocer que el mundo abierto encajo casi a la perfección en este última entrega de la saga; el mundo abierto de **The Phantom Pain** diseña nuevos desafíos y oportunidades, y esto es algo que el juego aprovecha hasta la última gota. Cuando digo que tenemos a nuestra imaginación y la temática del juego como límite, o lo digo porque podemos aprovechar cada factor del escenario; por ejemplo, el cambio de guardia de los *NPC*, a la luz del día seremos más visibles y con la noche nos camuflaremos mejor, cuando derribemos a un *NPC* sus compañeros estarán más alerta, podemos aprovechar el paso de una ventisca de arena y hasta la lluvia para infiltrarnos mejor, y así como estas son muchas las variantes que podemos generar al momento de jugar.

**La Mother Base** es nuestra base de operaciones y tendremos que abastecerla, comienza como una pequeña base de operaciones en el medio del océano y a medidas que avanzamos en el juego y vamos llevando más y más recursos se convertirá en una enorme fortaleza. La gestión no supondrá ningún problema para nosotros ya que podemos automatizar casi cualquier tarea necesaria para mejorar **La Mother Base**, y también porque enviar recursos en medio de una misión a la base se vuelve una mecánica un poco adictiva.

En lo personal creo que **Metal Gear** siempre ha tratado de llevar tu apartado visual al siguiente nivel, lo hizo con su tercera y cuarta entrega numerada, y obviamente lo hizo con la quinta; claro, teniendo en cuenta que es juego intergeneracional, como que tuvieron que restringirse un poco para poder lanzar **The Phantom Pain** en *Playstation3* y *Xbox 360*. La versión de *Playstation 4* va 1080p y 60fps un juego altamente disfrutable y con una excelencia gráfica. 

Los tiempos de carga son cortos, transición de día y noche fantástica, los elementos climáticos agregan más inmersión a la hora de jugar, buenas animaciones, diseño de personajes tan particular en esta saga que al momento de verlos es una cinemática se puede apreciar con más detalle. Pero como cualquier otro videojuego, no todo es perfecto, note algo de popping y algunas texturas con menos resolución que otras. Al ser un mundo abierto de espías como termina siendo eso, por lo que en algunas ocasiones sentí que el mundo estaba vacío más allá de las propias bases militares.

**Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain** es el último juego importante de la saga, una buena historia, un mundo abierto de espías que no tiene muchas limitaciones como se podría pensar a simple vista, gráficos fantásticos, guiños y referencias a otros juegos de la saga y un prólogo que si lo juegan alarga un poco más su experiencia con este **Metal Gear**. Recomendado para una fan de la saga y no eres fan y tampoco han jugado su primer **Metal Gear**, de verdad, no sé a qué esperan. **Kojima** dejó su despedida por lo alto con **Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain**. *Hasta la próxima.*

Kojima is one of those geniuses that you only see once in a long time, without a doubt MGS is one of my favorite sagas in video games starting with that old game that I fell in love with for the stealth that was the PS1 game. I have not had the pleasure of trying this one but as you paint it looks quite interesting, a very good review mate I'm looking forward to trying it to see how it is. Cheers :)

A nivel mecánico The Phantom Pain es sublime, lo mismo se extiende a otros aspectos técnicos como los gráficos y el sonido.

En términos de narrativa si no parece ser tan amado, yo honestamente lo disfruto más por su gameplay. Buen post amigo, excelente juego!
