With a new day among me and progress in repairing this Phoenix Base well underway, I headed out to grab some Molybdenum as a step up in the type of resource and the tougher of what is needed, for building further items towards getting off this rock.
Further out in the field among the Magnesium saw me being hurt by the little alien larvae creatures, seemingly getting more aggressive and faster now they have been monitoring me for some days and have seen their kind being killed by my hands and blade.
The day was long and tiresome like most days. I can feel myself coming closer to having a day of less work and extra relaxing but that was not this day.. the planet has been getting chartered a little more every time I explore and farm for resources.
But it wasn't for nothing, no this saw me repair some more of the airlock wall panels and the habitat will be next. If I could just get things really moving then I will have it repaired in no time.
For now I had my sleep until the creatures woke me, a defence I needed to complete so the bigger ones wouldn't stay lurking around in the morning.
So I did just that I went and killed it and was hurt again, in this fight like the previous one. Definitely do think they are getting more dangerous now and I should look to make a better weapon, when possible.
Day 8 has arrived for me since crash landing and I am now working on the habitat so I can add blockers to the other sections, once this is done so I have somewhere more suitable to reside that isn't a makeshift hut or a weak, inflatable dome.
Steel might be the toughest part to get for the habitat repair but first I need to build the forge and continue repairing as many sections as I can. This was all but the top centre piece needing the steel as I am missing a metal I believe might be in the mines below where I need another key first, before it allows me in..
Damn these stupid aliens are starting to swarm me in the day time now and a bit more often. At least in certain areas they do so it can get quite frustrating, to say the least, but nothing the trusty ol blade can't fix.. and in doing so with fighting, now I had gotten a suit breach due to one of the blows taken.
Duct tape is super handy in times like these. Boy was I not expecting the big crab to rush up from behind as I disposed of the little larvae creatures, no matter, main thing it I only got hit a few times and I held up perfectly fine!
Near the Phoenix site is another mine, it's the Beta mine to be exact and somewhere a bit further out is yet another mine, but for now I decide to check out the Beta mine and see what goodies I might find.
This one has a more established look as it is setup with metal, pipes, cables and looks to be mined frequently by the previous team that was living in this base.
Unfortunately besides a bunch of items lying in the few mine carts in these first sections it was a bust.. for now, until I get the new keys to open the doors, but that is likely to be a bit away yet so I will take leave from this Beta mine and get back to camp.
Heading into day 8 started off as a boring and typical day for me with the gathering while avoiding aliens trying to attack me.
Managed to find something new though. Zirconium just on the ground in pieces which leads me to believe, it's from one of the asteroid pieces that I have seen hitting the planet at times, either way though I will definitely gather it for later!
I looked around a little more before heading back while it was still light, adding more to my build goal as I need to find Lonsdaleite for the Steel plates while gathering other parts to continue repairs. At least I got some extra Magnalium crafted while I was at it.
I decided on a night time drive to start using my time more wisely, but to also experience just how dangerous it can get while keeping to my buggy as much as possible.. for safety.. got to stop to pick up some Uranium found from a crashed asteroid piece, quickly grabbing the pieces then off I went again to keep moving about and avoiding aliens.
I felt it was getting dangerous and like there was something coming for me. So I headed back toward my original location at the crash site, with an alien charging me and I just kept going until I got safe for the night.
