Greetings gorgeous hivers! Introducing myself as a new hiver on this platform, you can call me @thehandsam. This username was made by my sister in law when I asked her to help me create a username in my socmed and she suggested it. I said "why thehandsam?", she replied "it fits you" I didn't agree with her at first but she insisted, then so be it. 

I live in Tabogon, Cebu, Philippines. I am the youngest among my 8 siblings yet the tallest of them all, 5'9 in height, 18-year-old freshly graduated from Senior High School last April 14, 2025.

My grade school journey was a topsy-turvy experience, I've been a high-achieving student when I was on elementary. Been 7th in the class, 5th even 3rd and graduated in elementary achieving with honors. It was a great experience during elementary days, having lots of friends, not thinking about my problems, roaming around the campus playing like there is no tommorow and the best time to play was when it's raining, jumping in the puddles, doing tumblings that'll end up being scolded by the teacher but it's still fun doing the same thing again and again.

But during high school,  life took an unpleasant turn. I was introduced by the wrongdoings of the world, not listening to the teachers, not taking notes during a  discussion, not submitting projects and assignments, not engaging into curricular activities and even wandering outside the jurisdictions of the school. My situation worsened in when I was an eleventh-grader, been in a relationship where school had been ignored and I was In a state of being a failing student.

But then, realization struck me to the bone and that's when I made up my mind to focus on my studies. I've been a productive twelfth-grader, became a student journalist in my school.

I started to participate in school activities, achieving first place in competitions and experienced being a competitor in a journalism competition in the district level last February 3-7, 2025.

**KNOW ME MORE!** 

I have a lot of hobbies and likes, let's start with writing. It has been one of my most favorite things to do, writing has become an extension to my soul and my therapy in bittersweet situations. Through it, I was able to express myself, when I'm sad I write, when I'm happy I write and when I'm in the state of anger, I write. 

Next is badminton, this sport is deeply rooted in my soul. Back when I was a fifth-grader when I saw my elder brother playing badminton, it quickly catches my attention and fell in love in the sport. When I'm anxious in life, I'll just be  smashing my worries away. I've been playing it until now and had joined various badminton tournaments.

In addition, cooking was my passion. I really love cooking to the point that I want to pursue my interest in cooking and study in a culinary school but sadly, my parents are unable to meet the finances to let me study in a culinary school that's is why instead of culinary school I'll be taking BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT (BSHM) because cooking was included in the said course. Still, I'll able to engage myself in the field where cooking is the artistic expression of every other individuals.

Moreover, I like to sing, dance and do modeling (not professional though). My friends suggested me to do modeling because they say it suits me well having the characteristics of a model, tall, fierce in looks, photogenic and confident. Also, I play various instruments namely: guitar, organ/piano and drums.

Furthermore, I like to do travelings and photography. I find peace, relaxation and joy in traveling. Connecting myself in the nature made me realize how wonderful, all-powerful and magnificent the Creator is for making such extraordinary one-of-a-kind beauties that'll leave you breathles.

 Taking photos is a hobby of mine as well, for it is a testament and a great holder of inspirations, emotions and memories.  Capturing every moment together with my loved ones, those places that'll leaves me in awe

Lastly, I find enjoyment in my spirit in serving the Lord. I gives me satisfaction in the things that honors Him and totally refusing what the world's going to offer. The world offers, sinful nature, immorality and a corrupt character, but I'm able to withstand it all through His strength. His help made me who I am today, a productive individual and a better person. 

**Who introduced me to HIVE?**

I was introduced by my former subject teacher @callmesmile, she saw the potential in me that's why she introduced me to HIVE platform. HIVE platform is a key to a vast oppurtunities, an opportunity to improve myself as a writer and honing it to its full posible potential. I find HIVE platform as a room for growth to be an effective and efficient writer in the near future.
