That was a rather quiet trip. I just got back to Singapore after a very short trip home to the Philippines. It was for a really important family event for my relatives. It's always so good to see everyone and that happy feeling when you're with family. I was so lucky to spend a few short days like less than one week, actually with my own family. Every moment is special, like trying to enjoy all the minute spent while they last and the hugs possible in a short time. This morning was the airport goodbye with my husband, and that's always the hardest part. It feels very sad to leave. One minute all together, drinking coffee, and the next, you're walking away alone, looking back until you can't see them anymore. Weird though I never looked back for fear of seeing sad faces. It's a mix of being thankful for the time we had, and feeling a deep sadness because of the distance again. Now I'm back here in Singapore. And for them, it's back to their normal life in the Philippines. This is how it is when you work away from home. You make these choices for good opportunities, but your heart really feels the distance. But those memories from the past few days? They will help me until my next visit Does anyone else feel this way after leaving family? How do you manage when you're far away from them?
