Hi everyone,

Our first weekend event with Light's Verdict passed by, and I hope everyone was able to snatch as much wins as possible to get more packs. Now with our first serious weekend with Light's Verdict cards released, we got to see those new cards in action. New combos emerged, some cards were a good additions to old decks and some of them did not make that much of an impact. So in this post I will be ranking all 12 Light Verdict card from best to worst in my opinion.

Now I never done such type of post before but I thought it would be a good, fun idea to do as well as educational for anyone who did not get to see those cards in action. Now I will be ranking them based on 3 factors:

- Versatility: Where can you use this card and in how many decks does it do well.
- Cost efficiency: How good is this card for its mana cost.
- Effectiveness: How much of an impact did this card make in this meta.

Now the mix of all these 3 is what I will be basing my ranking on despite what the price of the card is. So without further ado let's jump into the ranking:

# Ranking from best to worst

## Blade of Whiteplain (#1)

This card takes the first place simply because it was the full package. Very effective especially in this meta, very versatile because it was used in many decks and cost efficient for a 5 mana card that can get you rid of a lot of annoying creatures! It will probably receive a nerf soon in my opinion but for now it is the most useful LV card at the moment.

## Martyr of Whiteplain (#2)

This card was very helpful and very useful in a lot of aggro decks. It can set you up to an amazing start and help board control so much early game. Although it is a neutral card but it was found most helpful in Light decks for the potential of buffing but even in aggro decks in general it is a good addition and that's why it takes the second place.

## Thaeriel, the Fallen (#3)

Now this was a close with the fourth place. Thaeriel is not in the first or second place simply because there are some RNG involved in playing him. The Cultists that you will delve might not be the ones you need in this situation. But at the same time it is a strong creature and has insane potential to end the game in case you got the Cultists you want too. The small bit of luck involoved here puts him in the 3rd place.

## The Divine Coronet (#4)

And in 4th place we have the divine coronet! A whole new deck emerged based on it which is the clone combo! A very strong deck indeed, however this card is in fourth place because it lacks versatility and it only works well in this deck! A very strong one indeed though but not found a lot!

## Pyrrhic Knowledge (#5)

I have seen a lot of magic decks incorporate this card into their decks and it helps in some situation to regain a key spell from the void. Although it does not work in a lot of situation but it is useful for OTK decks, or spell damage decks. And I think fifth place is a good fit for it compared to the others.

## An empire reborn (#6)

This card was used in some Rockdrake death decks and it was really helpful in many situations either getting more damage onto the board then using **Over the Line** or to get rid of a certain debuff on a certain creature. A very close one with the **Pyrrhic Knowledge** ranking wise but the previous one has a slight edge on versatility.

## The dearly departed (#7)

In 7th place we have **The dearly departed**. This card is in 7th because despite not being used a lot, I think it still had a bit more usefulness in this meta than the rest of the cards. It can set you up to a good start in the game by getting you ride of an annoying enemy card for a bit and that's why I think it is a good fit for this 7th spot.

## An End to War (#8)

Now from here on we came to the card that had little to no use this week. This one takes the 8th place because I think it can be a good card with the effects it has, but in control war decks and since control war isn't that good now this card was not used much.

## Shines on Us all (#9)

The reason of this card being ninth is similar to the one before. I think if any sort of tribe decks was still effective currently this card would have Shined on us all much more! But what makes it ninth not eights is also the RNG involved in delving! It is a bit slow but it can set you well for the game if you got a good card too!

## Forged in The Light (#10)

I must say it is a bit weird seeing Light cards being the least useful despite the set being called Light's Verdict. Now this card might have been better if there was a good Chosen One combo to emerge but in this meta it is very tough to rely on only 1 or 2 creatures to win you game because of how much answers are present.

## The Light Seeks the truth (#11)

Second to last we have **The Light Seeks the Truth**. Now this card is in this place because it lacks all 3 factors. Versatility, it can only be used in a Chosen One deck which is not even present currently. Effectiveness, it is until late game that you might find a creature that has more than 1 of these keywords to take them to your chosen one. Cost efficiency, you can find many cards with lesser mana cost that does almost the same work as this one which is getting rid of an annoying strong creature.

## Forge new bonds (#12)

And in last place we have this card for exactly the same reasons as the previous one! A lot of deception cards are present that can do the same job and even better sometimes as this card with less mana cost too! I would say it much be completely reworked to have any use in this meta.

# Final Thoughts

This card ranking post was based completely on how the cards were used and how did I see them being used whether it is in my games or on any streams or games that I watched and ranked based on the overall current meta. Keep in mind that it is completely my opinion and do not get offended by any of it.

If you are using any of these cards that I might have ranked in a low ranking but it is doing you good by all means keep on using it!
