# Every new user on steemit gets a free $3.50 worth of steempower, as of now. If you have created your account where when the price of steem is not the same as the price of now which is we know it's drastically decreasing, then you might ge the same problem as stated in the title itself.

### So for example, let's just assume(I'm too lazy for the calculations) that the $3.50 worth of steem power yields 10 Steem Power. That 10SP is what we call the threshold value where you have the privilege to vote. Take note: This is in relation to the price of steem today (49k sats at poloniex) the lowest I saw.

### Now, if you have created your account last month or last 2weeks or 3weeks, where steemit grants more than $3.50 worth of SP or exactly the same as today(it doesn't matter how much worth of SP because what matters is the decreasing value of steem that is also causing the value of SP to change). So let's assume it again that $3.50 worth of SP at that time yields 5 SP. Take note that last 2 weeks or 3, the price of steem is higher than today(105k sats I guess)



## 10SP(created today) vs 5SP(created last few weeks)

### If you take too much time to post something today when you got your account with 10SP, you wont be able to vote for something in the near future, that if and only if the price of the steem continues to surge down and steemit would impose a higher requirement of SP to vote (compensating the change of steem's price).

### For the 5SP account, it is 100% sure that you can't vote for something. I've tried voting on some certain posts on my other account with 3SP where at that time,  that SP is worth $4.00. And something will pop-up saying "voting weight is too small..."

### The other problem I encounter, is that I can't post something on that account and it states just like what it says when you are voting for something. But, luckily, there's a solution to that. DON'T UPVOTE YOUR POST. And just hope for someone or a whale to vote for it for you to get more STEEM POWER!

# THE GOOD THING IS THE REMEDY

### Many are not happy about the price of steem today. I'm not sure about that but I'm definitely not wrong. So for those who are new on the platform and to those who are suffering from the given problem above, the solution is simply INVEST! Buy and accumulate more voting power especially now that the price of steem is totally low, it could be at it's lowest possible as time runs.
