That's what I said to myself when I posted my 'introduceyourself' steemit post. I was wrong. Maybe the problem was that my 'introduceyourself' post started like this:

**"The most fantastic sentence ever written, being perfectly balanced, well toned, and crafted with just the right number of words and commas, would probably be the best sentence with which to start this introduction, but now, since this particular sentence has probably just exceeded such self-imposed guidelines, I can find some relief in knowing that the first sentence of my introductory post will not likely be my best work, and that improvements, including shorter sentences with less commas, are possible in the future."**

I don't think it earned a penny. Looking back, I can see why: I never introduced myself! I tried to write the best post ever, but said almost nothing about myself in it. 
<center><h1>Introduce Yourself</h1></center>
It should have been obvious-- the title 'introduce yourself' says it all. Don't be like me. To do a proper introduction, write the date and your username on something, and take a picture of yourself. Have someone else take the pic if it's easier, then post the picture with a description of what readers can expect from you. A few paragraphs should do it.

Keep it simple, informative, and honest. Yours will be better than mine was. As my post sank in the feed, I decided to copy and repost the whole thing again, but it was hopeless, and the second one sank even quicker. It said nothing of value, and it sank accordingly.

 Just let everyone know you're here, and what you intend to do here.
