Hey friends,

long time no talk. Just wanted to give a quick update on what I've been up to.

As you might know, I've been talking here and there the past months about a project that I've been working on (going on 2 years). And I've actually been meaning to launch it for quite a while now.

But, as fate has it, things take far more time due to different reasons. 

Truth is that it gets pretty frustrating at times, since I'm a person who wants to get stuff done *fast*, so patience has never been something coming easily to me.

But, due to even more reasons, life wanted me to learn to be patient and esp. in regards to the project, I think it's actually a really positive thing.

For months, I've been constantly re-evaluating what I've built, what my vision is and whether I'm cluttering it with non-sense features.

Trust me, I'm for sure looking forward to the day when I can finally get some hands-on reviews from my Hive community, but until then, I'll use the conceptional stage I'm in right now.

At some point you have to pull the trigger. Nothing is ever going to be perfect what's important is after it's released to the world if you own up to mistakes and correct them asap or add in new features asap. These are the core values that make or break any company, site or person.

Appreciate the answer. Though it was never about me not wanting to "pull the trigger"; trust me: I was ready. But sometimes things take longer - for whatever reason. And the point I was trying to make was that through all this, the extra time allowed for much deeper development than initially planned. :)

You never know if an idea is good before you put it out in the world. Launching quickly is good because it allows you to gather feedback and iterate/improve/pivot a lot faster.

Appreciate the feedback. I have a few eyes giving me feedback and that's enough for now. I don't think Steve Jobs would have just released the iPhone if it weren't (in his eyes) ready yet.

On top of that, there are things like database layouts that can be easily changed in dev mode, but once it's in production and has real data, it's getting much more difficult and troublesome to make major changes.

If core functions work, I would start a closed alpha/ or release it. You can always add things and perfection is always impossible :)

Also, randoms on the Internet find always every bug/exploit possible, if it doesn't deal with tons of money, it can be fixed afterward:D
