Being a contributor to the SPK Network, I want to answer some questions people may have about the project. In addition, other members of the SPK Network may chime in as well, such as @starkerz co-founder of 3speak and the SPK Network lead devs @vaultec and @bobinson, so if you have any technical questions, please feel free to ask. The SPK Network consists of many contributors and is a community effort. 

From my perspective, I'm happy we are getting to a place where we are making great progress and happy to share that with you all.

I know each of those tokens have their own utilities, incentives and advantages but couldn't there be a way to use less? I'm sure it can be extremely frustrating for a crypto newb to have to deal with with many coins for the same community. 

I've been here for a while and I get discouraged by it at times.

As a normal user, you'll very likely only deal with BROCA. Platforms are encouraged to provide BROCA for their users via a BROCA delegation feature. I know personally I plan to continue building 3speak on the SPK Network to be that very easy to use web3 app where a user will not even know their using web3 tech.

We think that SPK will be a proof of access storage model where things will be stored separately on a decentralised network which will fully integrate into hive.  the content file lists will be recorded on hive and will therefore not require a complex blockchain mining system like with other decentralised storage systems, which will allow Hive to focus on text, its account system, communities, tokens, NTF metadata, and everything else that DPoS is excellent at doing

SPK will use Hive to store CIDs in order for the PoA system to work. The token system will also be built on Hive. Account names, etc everything will be Hive based except the video and image storage. Basically, we will use Hive as our immutable ledger of truth as the skeleton that makes up the entire network. IPFS will be used for the storage of video/images/text. The unique thing about the SPK network is users can have permanent data and be able to delete that data from the network if they choose. In fact, they will be paid to delete older videos.

That's really interesting... appreciate the prompt reply! I'm quite intrigued as a content creator that has been very disappointed with my experience uploading videos to YouTube, to the point that I don't feel it's too worth my time to even do these days.

I prefer to do everything in 4K quality to future-proof it... unsure if this is viable using IPFS given the file size? But I have been strongly considering re-uploading all my content on ThreeSpeak eventually, just never got around to it so far.

As someone who has been following this project clo...
As someone who has been following this project closely, mine is more a request than a question. A majority of people on Hive and outside doen't quite understand the interaction of the various tokens on the Speak Network. If we can have regular video/text turorials or explainers to help demystify all of that, people will have a feeling of ownership of the Speak network which will just compound interest. Thank you.

We invite lbry to join the SPK network. We will have a open platform that rewards storage miners. LBRY could get paid by doing what they are already doing simply by plugging into the SPK network.

I really want to know how a content creator can have a good protagonism within the SPK network, I would love to use My 3Speak channel and videos to bring a lot of people to this awesome network as I've been doing right now with My blog.

So, basically, I have 2 questions:

* What will be the token that a content creator should focus to have to become a great staker within creators in the SPK network?

* The governance will be choosen with the same proof of stake that we have here in Hive?

Staking SPK will give you free BROCA. Stake enough SPK and you'll essentially have free uploads for life, like Hive and RCs. 

Governance will be just like Hive. You stake your SPK tokens and vote for validators, proposals within the DAO, etc.

If we compare SPK to youtube, how SPK is better? Let's just ignore the decentralization because we are all aware of that. 

By the way, I hope your team working on the uploading thing and about a smaller MB. It's really hard to upload especially if the connection is slow. Just like me located in a province part of the Philippines. The usage of the internet in uploading is something.

This DELETE = REWARDS feature. Seems like it's incentiving people to keep the network free of bloat which is a fair call.

But... what happens if I DELETE a video (that I CREATED) but then others that saved it don't think it should be deleted. Do I get rewards for deleting if the video continues on the network? Who then is considered the content owner? What if that video (hosted by someone else) goes viral suddenly, does the original creator get rewards back even though on their ledger they chose to have that video deleted?

What if then the video happens to have content which may one day be subject to legal issues? If I had deleted it.. BUT CREATED THE ORIGINAL who has to deal with the legal issues? The person still holding onto it or the creator?

Or if the CREATOR deletes it does the whole network need to obey that request? 

Personally I don't like this delete feature because even on YT just because a video isn't getting big views or getting monetized it's still an asset for the historical element. For example, sometimes people get nostalgic and want to revisit old crap.

If this delete feature exists as a way for people to seek rewards then it's like eating and vomiting. In not necessarily that logical order.

Eating and simply allowing the digestive system to extract the value is what works. Sometimes we might need to vomit but it's rare and then we most definitely never eat our own vomit. Dogs do that.

That analogy might be odd so let me move on ... 

I understand you can't host everything forever but watching the video of the dev calls I had a different thought. Language and words for instance. If we as humans are to delete obsolete words (or rarely used languages) then we simply lose knowledge. 

In internet terms:

If for instance bad drawings done in mspaint were to be wiped from internet history we would not have the wonders of meme culture which nowadays essentially lives strong through badly drawn works. Such as THE CHAD vs THE VIRGIN. Furthermore if every meme needed to be to professional standards, then we lose the richness of what we can all collective contribute to and then appreciate. 

Like the example in the video, a cat video would be subject to deletion. But then that starves people of the priceless pleasure of wanting to watch endless cat videos. 

I guess it's also like memories. What kind of mind would one posses if we decided every night to delete our memories. Actually our mind does sort them according to importance by some unknown algorithm but they're still there though. Only to be triggered some way in the future by some seemingly irrelevant cue.

CONTENT IMO is like that.
See I even see it as belonging to everyone once uploaded. Even if the content creator of a cat video has stopped seen it as value.. a person that then comes along and wants to make a compilation of cat behavior would seek that out. To them a 10+ year collection of cat videos would be highly valuable. If everyone deleted it then it's simply lost and we all lose that great joy of what cats can bring.

I understand money is an inportant element to this here Hive and projects that are emerging from it so then I think, is that then what kills the cat? Not curiosity.. but the need to always chase a momentary reward for everything?

Whether someone continues to store the video or not is irrelevant because the individual who is storing the video won't be rewarded, and thus not a strain on the network. To be clear here, the deletion is exclusively related to the incentivization layer. Individuals *can* be rewarded (not guaranteed) for disincentivizing (referred to as deleting) their video from the incentivization layer.

As far as I understand the legal status of this would be all parties storing or otherwise infringing would be liable. This is more of a question a lawyer should answer.

There are two parts to this problem:
1. The video content.
2. The video metadata.

The content creator can disincentivize storage of the video and will likely drop from the network over time, but this is never a guarantee. Like anything, there is always a possibility someone can make a copy of your video. This is true almost regardless of what system you use. Youtube, Dtube, 3speak, lbry you name it. It's always going to be possible someone makes a copy of the data. That being said, the content creator has the ability to wipe video metadata from the network, meaning the video metadata (title, description, etc) will disappear and become unsearchable to the general user attempting to find it.
