Dusky dolphins hitching a ride

Cruising along near the Beagle Channel, as you either arriving from or are departing for the Drake passage you always have the opportunity to encounter some of the more playful mammals of the ocean, Dolphins. In particular, you may have the amazing experience of interacting with some of these energetic animals, *Dusky dolphins*, whom seem to somewhat enjoy bow riding for long periods of time, whether it be for enjoyment or simply hitching a ride from the wake of a ship.

Personally, I do not really seem to mind what the reason might be just that they continue to do it time after time after time whenever the ship I am working on transit through their area on my way back from exploring the Antarctic peninsula.
