getting air!

There is something special about watching whales breaching over and over again. Something though that always surprises me when I am lucky enough to observe such a behaviour from a whale is the speed in which it happens.

Most people believe it would be over in an instant and if you are indeed not looking the right way for that split second then all you will observe is a big splash of water.  However, I have noticed that if you happen to be looking in the right direction then the breach itself seems to go for a lot longer. Perhaps time is just relevant. Either way it pays to be looking in the right direction when one of these marine giants decides to launch itself into the sky.
