In the city I live in, Bitlis, all the shops on the stream were demolished last year. This made up the vast majority of all shops. Other shops were built in place of the demolished shops. Although many tradesmen are victimized, this project will actually be a big gain for the city in the long run.

Since the stream was destroyed, the stream and historical structures passing through the bazaar came to light. Bridges are centuries old. Much more aesthetic than current bridges. It just needs some restoration.

>Dere üstü yıkıldığı için, çarşı içinden geçen dere ve tarihi yapılar gün yüzüne çıktı. Köprüler yüzyıllık. Şimdiki köprülere göre çok daha estetik. Sadece biraz restore edilmeye ihtiyaç var.

After strong walls are built on both sides, the inside of the stream will be thoroughly cleaned. Then they will create areas on the upper floor where people can sit and walk. It will be a little green.

All this is nice. It is important after all this construction process is over. Will people continue to throw garbage in the stream? When they get the chance, will they drain the sewage into the stream? Will they throw animal feces and dead animals into the stream?

But one thing is certain, no matter how bad it is, it will be better than the old building. It was one of the most illogical things in the world to build a shop on the stream passing through the center of the bazaar.

There is an abundance of historical buildings around.

The restored building in the picture is one of the oldest buildings in the city. One of the old inns. Once restored, it will likely be leased to one of the shopkeepers.
