**Isabel y Jorge son mis vecinos y amigos.** Hace 6 meses ellos deciden viajar a Colombia (Bogotá) a ver a su hijo menor y a pasar el cumpleaños de Isabel en ese país con su hijo y su nuera. 

*Este viaje era sólo por un mes, pero estando allá Isabel (que es diabética) se enferma y se le sube mucho la azúcar y la tensión.*

La llevan al Hospital y resulta que después de practicarle una cantidad de Estudios, **encuentran que tiene un tumor en el cerebro, (benigno)** el cual le está oprimiendo unos nervios y hacen que se descompense significativamente.

Estuvo bastante delicada de salud, permaneció hospitalizada durante 2 meses,  le dieron de alta pero con reposo absoluto, no podía viajar a Venezuela.

Estando aún en Bogotá, recibe una lamentable noticia, su hijo mayor que vive en Venezuela, cerca de su casa (Ciudad de Guatire), **tiene cáncer en el páncreas.**
 
Esa noticia la descompensó por completo, se alteraron todas sus valores, y ahora menos podía viajar, su hijo mayor (Enrique) está hospitalizado desde hace un mes en el Hospital Clínico Universitario, Caracas/Venezuela.

Ahora ya Isabel un poco mejor de salud pudo viajar con su Esposo, viajaron en bus desde Bogotá, hasta la ciudad de Caracas/Venezuela, salieron el viernes a las 4pm y llegaron el domingo a las 2pm.

Yo los fui a buscarlos en mi carro al terminal de pasajeros, me dio mucha alegría volverlos a ver, después de 6 meses. Ellos me pidieron que por favor los llevara a comer algo rápido, ya que no comían desde el día anterior.

*Los llevé a un Arturo’s (comida rápida de pollo) que estaba cerca del terminal,* me invitaron a comer con ellos, pero al ver la lista con los precios no acepté esa invitación.

Realmente me pareció muy costoso para que esos viejitos que vienen de tan lejos, con tantos gastos en médicos y medicinas gastaran más, pero su insistencia fue tanto que decidí pedir un helado.

Ese lugar que siempre estaba lleno de gente comiendo, estaba completamente vacío, claro es que con esos precios y cómo está la economía aquí en Venezuela, es bastante difícil darnos ese gusto.

Terminamos de comer **y les propuse llevarlos al hospital a ver a su hijo.** Los dos quedaron muy sorprendidos por mi propuesta, me abrazaron y lloraron de felicidad, **(aunque sé que estaban muy cansados de ese viaje de dos días en bus, sabía que lo que más deseaban era ver a su hijo)**, así que nos fuimos al Hospital.

*Les cuento que fue muy deprimente esa escena del encuentro de esa madre con ese hijo (Enrique no sabía que su mamá estaba ya de vuelta), fue una gran sorpresa para él.*

**Se abrazaron, lloraron, pero a la vez estaban muy contentos de estar juntos de nuevo.**

Yo traté en todo momento de controlar mis lágrimas, no quería contribuir con esa tristeza, así que me armé de valor y comencé a hablar de anécdotas vividas llenas de momentos buenos y nos reímos un rato recordando muchas cosas agradables.

Pasó el tiempo muy rápido, yo no acostumbro a manejar de noche, teníamos que ir de Caracas a Guatire que desde donde estábamos era casi una hora de camino, yo pensaba en el regreso y me angustiaba un poco el manejar de noche, pero no tenía corazón para separar a esos seres, total que ya a las 8pm, fue el mismo Enrique que sugirió que nos fuéramos que ya era muy tarde para estar nosotros tres por ahí de noche.

Me quedé más tranquila que fuera él quien lo propusiera, así que nos despedimos sin poder evitar las lágrimas  y nos fuimos.
 
Realmente me sentí muy bien de poder haber hecho ese acto de bondad con estos dos viejitos que están también enfermos y tienen ese cuadro tan doloroso con su hijo.

Sólo le pido a Dios poder siempre seguir ahí apoyando a mis amigos y que lo cubra con su manto sagrado para que ese muchacho pueda vivir por muchos años más, Enrique es una muy buena persona es un muchacho muy noble, el cual trabajó muchos años en educación, dando lo mejor de él para formar a sus alumnos con buenos valores y buenos sentimientos.

 **Isabel and Jorge are my neighbors and friends.** 6 months ago they decided to travel to Colombia (Bogota) to see their youngest son and to spend Isabel's birthday in that country with her son and daughter-in-law.
 
*This trip was only for a month, but while there Isabel (who is diabetic) got sick and her blood sugar and blood pressure went up a lot.*

They took her to the hospital and it turned out that after a number of studies, **they found that she had a tumor in her brain, (benign)** which was pressing on some nerves and caused her to decompensate significantly.

Her health was quite delicate, she was hospitalized for 2 months, she was discharged but with absolute rest, she could not travel to Venezuela.

While still in Bogota, she received unfortunate news, her eldest son who lives in Venezuela, near her home (Guatire City), **has cancer in the pancreas.** That news decompensated her completely.
 
That news decompensated her completely, all her values were altered, and now she could not travel, her eldest son (Enrique) has been hospitalized for a month at the Hospital Clínico Universitario, Caracas/Venezuela.

Now Isabel was able to travel with her husband, they traveled by bus from Bogota to the city of Caracas/Venezuela, they left on Friday at 4pm and arrived on Sunday at 2pm.

I went to pick them up in my car at the passenger terminal, I was very happy to see them again, after 6 months. They asked me to please take them to eat something fast, since they had not eaten since the day before.

*I took them to an Arturo's (chicken fast food) that was near the terminal,* they invited me to eat with them, but when I saw the list with the prices I did not accept that invitation.

It really seemed too expensive for those old people coming from so far away, with so many expenses in doctors and medicines to spend more, but their insistence was so much that I decided to order an ice cream.

That place that was always full of people eating, was completely empty, of course with those prices and how the economy is here in Venezuela, it is quite difficult to indulge ourselves.

We finished eating **and I proposed to take them to the hospital to see their son,** They were both very surprised by my proposal, they hugged me and cried with happiness, **(although I know they were very tired from that two-day bus trip, I knew that what they wanted most was to see their son)**, so we went to the hospital.

*I tell you that it was very depressing that scene of the meeting of that mother with that son (Enrique did not know that his mother was already back), it was a great surprise for him.*

**They hugged each other, they cried, but at the same time they were very happy to be together again.**

I tried at all times to control my tears, I did not want to contribute to that sadness, so I took courage and began to talk about anecdotes full of good times and we laughed for a while remembering many pleasant things.

Time went by very fast, I am not used to drive at night, we had to go from Caracas to Guatire, from where we were it was almost an hour drive, I was thinking about the return and I was a little anxious about driving at night, but I had no heart to separate those beings, so at 8pm, it was Enrique himself who suggested that we leave because it was too late for the three of us to be out there at night.

I was calmer that he was the one who proposed it, so we said goodbye without being able to avoid tears and left.
 
I really felt very good to have been able to do this act of kindness with these two old people who are also sick and have such a painful situation with their son.

I only ask God to always be there supporting my friends and to cover him with his sacred mantle so that this boy can live for many more years. Enrique is a very good person and a very noble boy, who worked for many years in education, giving the best of himself to form his students with good values and good feelings.
