I think most of your points can be lumped into #7, because they all work to improve the community. I try to vote for posts which improve the community, which adds to the value of a steem token.

I upvote a lot of the posts I read, but I am not always reading posts.  I mean, if I clicked on it, it usually had a thumbnail or text that interested me in the first place.  Like when i'm done with this comment, bam, upvote will occur.  On my scroll up I read other comments and upvote those along the way sometimes.

I take the "Has this post added to my day" view. Then again I will upvote on interesting Newbie articles. As there is nothing quite as lonely as that one upvote from yourself staring back at you;D~

I don't do numbers 4 or 5. But all the rest? Yep, that describes me. Steemsports is an easy one for number 3. What gets you to upvote comments? When I first came into Steemit, comments were worth something. Now, not so much. Do you curate comments at all?

Based on your matrix, can you guess what type of vote was given for this article? :) Interesting also would be to note the % of upvote for each type.

I totally agree with all of these categories, and I have voted on occasion on each of them.  Great list!

Value, clarity and utility, or just plain old enjoyment.

I personally use 1, 2 7 and 9 the most, although option 2 is connected with option 1/7. If a friend is posting something stupid, I may not upvote him or I may upvote him. This depends on the weather.

I don't like the option 10 much. For instance, I could have a lot of fun with a video shared on the platform (you know, this kind of post continaing half a line of text plus a video) , but I do not want to contribute to such a post. However, in the case I have fun an the post is a real post then yes, I may upvote it but it is not systematic.

I used to follow option 2 once in a while in the past. Now, I don't care at all about curation rewards anymore. I read what I am interested by (the science category plus the people I follow) and that's it. I discover new authors thanks to the resteem function.

I finally agree with @schattenjaeger. This option is definitely missing :)

@timcliff I think it's fair to say I curate _**alot**_ and it's how I discovered your material.  I suppose I have always made decisions based upon vote type #1 the impressed vote - Even when I was doing my own Hidden Gems Series.  

The friends I have made here on Steemit seem to push out impressive content on a regular basis, so the friend vote doesn't even need to be a consideration. I have also been good about referring posts I think should have some more reward than I can give to places like Robinhood Whale and Curie because they can do more than I can for STEEM rewards.

Just from a personal level, I have never been a fan of voting bots simply because they overlook so many good posts which don't meet their programmed criteria.

I've up-voted all ten of those in the last few hours...

Except for the bot part, I've voted for all these reasons. LOL
I've also followed a few Streemian trails for curation purposes...and usually I check Steemd to see what was voted on, and follow up with comments. As far as I'm concerned upvotes are the icing, but comments is the CAKE.  ***I like cake.***

When I'm hungry, I upvote food pics.

Whether I agree or not, if I feels that it has added value to me, increased my understanding of the topic or is an alternate idea, I will up vote a post.

I wish these were actual features on Steemit. A good way to send feedback. This was the "I Agree" vote.

I wish we had a vote like "You know what, I appreciate this post and the arguments you made, but I don't agree, so I'm choosing this option" vote, since sometimes I read stuff that I think are well argued, but I still don't agree, so I don't vote, because I don't want people to think that I agree.

But I can appreciate the writer's side of the story, still.

I choose :  1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. I'm not a bot.

What about the:
- "top of my feed vote"
- "the accidental vote"
- "I'm bored vote"
- "vote, wait unvote, you know what.. vote"
- "vote for this person I like, wait is that the one I like or is it a similar name...? vote"
