This is a post for the "Hi from Hive" community in which I will post my experience of Hive so far!


### This September is kind of a big deal for me on this great chain. 

- **It has been 3 years since I first made my intro post. 3 years!** How time has been running... I still remember the first time I tried to get my head around crypto technology. After all this time I still haven't figured everything out (obviously...) but I think I know the basics - especially of Hive. It's taken a lot of blog posts and videos, trial and error and experimenting to understand how our blockchain works (and what its problems are). But I am happy to say that I have seen **progress**. So much has been done to improve and develop the underlying technology and interface that in some ways it's hard to compare it to that early time. I have said it before, and I'll say it again: this is a (social) experiment and we need a lot of patience to see the fruits of all of the hard labor that is going into this project. Don't get frustrated too fast and look at the things that have been achieved :)

- **September also marks the time when I finally (and I never actually thought I'd get here) become an orca!** To me this sounds crazy as I never really thought that I'd hang out here for so long and that I'd manage to grow my account by so much! I still remember an account that posted his or her achievement of 10k Steem and I thought that I'd never be able to reach that (this was to a time when Steem's price was in the dollar ranges). So now I sit here and am 140k Vests shy of becoming an orca (which is like a couple of hundred Hive I think). Of course it has helped that I doubled my stake with the Hive fork and I think this helped many people to grow their account. I hope that more people powered their Hive/Steem up. - **Throughout this time I have managed to get to know many people.** To me this isn't an anonymous place anymore. I feel that I know most people around here (which is also a bad sign :D) and make it a goal to support many minnows around here by curating their content. For example, this is a distribution of my votes from several months ago:

Community is probably the biggest aspect and asset on this platform. It is great to be a part of it and I hope to befriend many more users :)

- **In case you haven't noticed, I am running the #LoveTheClouds contest.** We are in round 87 now (it has been running for close to 2 years) and we are getting some breathtaking entries every week! - Also check out the #Streetheart project. The idea is to hand out real money earned from crypto to people that need it!

- I am also using Hive as a blogging platform for posting pictures of nature and our social world. Every once in a while I bring to you the #sociallens series in which I take a closer look at people and our society. For example, [I have taken a look at how corona has been impacting our society.](https://peakd.com/hive-174578/@tobetada/the-new-moves-with-the-mask-v) Or I have looked at religious places and how they appear to affect us as well as more mundane topics like how people clothe themselves or how they walk...

I hope to get to know more people here and that we can build one of the best blockchains out there. To celebrate powerup day and to show my trust, **I also powered up over 2k Hive today!** 😀
