"The" powerdown and escape?

I think what's happening is just more of the same that has been happening since last April. As you know, it takes three months to fully power down. Only 139 million HIVE are powered up. The virtual supply that includes HBD is 403 HIVE and the total HIVE supply (including HP) is 372 HIVE. The price is decided by holders of the circa 133 million liquid HIVE and the 4.6 million HBD. 

It's just the way HIVE and STEEM work and have always worked. Sellers keep selling until the price is so low that speculators feel compelled to gobble the coin up, causing a massive spike. That usually occurs when there is a lot of loose change sloshing about in the late stages of an overall crypto bull run.  Thanks to the small market cap, the price can go up extraordinarily violently.
