Fortunately for us, GRIDCOINERS and BOINCers, seems that 2018 is going to be a very successful  year.

GRIDCOIN is performing well, very well.

Even during the past days, on which the whole cryptosphere was trembling with a global correction which affected the majority of the coins, GRIDCOIN managed to grow more than 115% since I did [this call](https://steemit.com/gridcoin/@toofasteddie/gridcoin-forming-a-cup-and-handle) 27 days ago.

<h3>What are my expectatives for GRIDCOIN this year?</h3>

As usual I will try to base my analysis in Elliot-Waves and Pattern Recognition Theories and their application to the two major Pairs, GRC/BTC and GRC/USD.

<h5> GRIDCOIN vs DOLLAR </h5>

Firstly, let me tell you that currently there are not so many exchanges on which you can trade this pair, if I am not wrong OPENLEDGER-DEX and C-CEX are the available exchange sites to do it without passing intermediately by a BTC transaction, what I can tell you is that OPENLEDGER is working pretty well and I am very satisfied with its service.

According to this weekly chart, GRIDCOIN is completing the 5th-wave of a major cycle which started by mid-2016. If the theory is not wrong and of course, if I'm counting well (the 4th wave is finishing at the limit of the count validity), this bullish wave should bring us higher that GRIDCOIN's All-Time-Highs...
I guess that the target of the summit now may reach as high as 0.18 or 0.19 USD a GRC. In order to be more accurate we can use the CUP and Handle Theory which can be applicable here as well, actually, there is not a handle since GRC broke already the Upper line of the CUP, sometimes happen :-)

Using this pattern we may corroborate as well a minimum target of 0.19 USD for the completion of wave 5.

- What will happen afterwards ?
As I said, this is a Major Cycle in Elliot Waves terms so, we should expect a major correction... something like this:

...On which the FIBONACCI levels of 0.618 or 0.382, corresponding to 0.11USD and 0.07USD respectively would be the possible limits of the cycle end.

<h5> GRIDCOIN vs BITCOIN </h5>

I would expect something similar to what GRIDCOIN has performed in the past year, so this is my plan for 2018:

As you can see, any of the **a,b,c,d,e** points represent a good sell/buy chance.
We are currently running to reach **b** and I think 2500 satoshis would be a realistic target in short, then correction to **c** and so on...
