How to tap Palm wine from a fallen palm tree

I don't know if you have only been hearing about palm wine or you have had the chance to have a sip sometime ago. The truth is that you can't beat it's unique taste. It's also enriched with numerous vitamins and minerals. It has alot of vitamin A and aids milk supply in nursing mothers. It contains a little alcohol though. The palm wine I know is milkish in colour and being tapped from a live palm tree. But I was shocked last two weeks to discover that you can also tap Palm wine from a fallen palm tree. N/B Press out air from the nylon bag after tying it to the pierced stump to discourage theft and quick fermentation. Check it each day, early in the morning. Trim the base as in the picture after turning out the wine every morning. It can yield wine as long as 4 to 5 months. The more you trim and tap it, the more it gushes out.
The fermented version of it, is too strong and it's called local gin.
