<liketuimages> <center>           </center> </liketuimages> Hi Everyone, Located in very close to Tsūtenkaku, the famous Imamiya Ebisu Jinja was a must stop for us on the way to Tsūtenkaku. Imamiya Ebisu Jinja is famous for the Toka Ebisu Festival which happens after the busy New Year period. Held normally in the second week of the new year, the Jinja will light up for all the visitors to continue on the celebration for the New Year with various motifs, bamboo and local food. The Jinja is known to give good luck, especially to businesses and those who work on water (fishing business) therefore there will be many business owners coming here to pay their respect to the god. On the day we were visiting (outside of the huge celebration), we saw so many people in suits there paying their respects and making wishes. They would go around the Jinja and pray to all the gods before heading to their next destination. It is understood that over a million people will visit Imamiya Ebisu Jinja during the celebration period and food stores will open around the clock to cater for the crowd. When we were visiting, we saw that stores were setting up selling food, bamboo and charms. As you can see in the picture below, there are different charms you can buy that suits your needs. These aren’t cheap but they do bless you for the rest of the year. As we were leaving, we saw that the tori gate had pictures drawn by local schools to make a massive collage. It gives a very warm vibe for visitors and many would stand and look at each artwork carefully. As it is located close to Imamiya Ebisu Station, it makes going to this Jinja very easily. We got off the train and walked for 1 minute. One thing to note the ground is all gravel so wear comfortable shoes. It does get very busy during lunch hours and during the celebration period. Once you are done, it is a short walk to the famous Tsūtenkaku to visit this busy area.
