This morning at breakfast I was sitting there and then suddenly I realized. Hard as nails and without make-up. 

Each of us knows that if we have little of a particular item, then that item is of great value to us. This is not only true for materialistic things, but also for living beings. We spend a lot of money on an animal or plant that is rare. 

So far this realization is nothing new, you will say. That's right, too! 

But here it comes:
There are many of us humans. Depending on where we are, in big cities or small villages, more or less. Now the well-known experience is added that in small villages people greet each other much more and are friendly to each other. In big cities it's more like you don't greet each other as much. There is more of a fierce competition there.

But why is it so? 
Because for people in big cities, the other is not as important as living in a small village. It gives us people in certain places in large numbers. The more there is (or from an object or other living being) the less it is worth to us. 

That's the problem we have. We do not respect what is either way valuable. Be it us humans, each other, plants, animals and raw materials. There are enough resources, therefore we trample the earth with our feet, day after day. One more, the other less. 

I don't know where this "gift" comes from, why we are like this. 

Blessing or curse?

Heute morgen beim Frühstück saß ich da und dann kam mir plötzlich die Erkenntnis. Knallhart und ungeschminkt. 

Jeder von uns weiß, dass wenn wir von einem bestimmten Gegenstand nur wenig haben, dann ist uns dieser Gegenstand sehr viel Wert. Das trifft nicht nur für materialistische Dinge zu, sondern auch auf Lebewesen. Ein Tier oder eine Pflanze, dass es nur noch selten gibt, geben wir viel Geld aus. 

Bis jetzt ist diese Erkenntnis nichts Neues, wirst du sagen. Stimmt auch! 

Aber nun kommt es:
Von uns Menschen gibt es viele. Je nachdem wo wir uns befinden, in großen Städten oder in kleinen Dörfern, mehr oder weniger. Nun kommt die weit bekannte Erfahrung hinzu, dass in kleinen Dörfern man sich viel mehr grüßt und zueinander freundlich ist. In großen Städten ist es eher so, dass man sich weniger grüßt. Dort ist eher ein harter Konkurrenzkampf.

Aber warum ist es so? 
Weil für den Mensch in großen Städten, der Andere nicht mehr so wichtig ist, als wenn man in einem kleinen Dorf wohnt. Es gibt uns Menschen an bestimmten Orten in großer Anzahl. Je mehr es uns gibt ( oder von einem Gegenstand oder anderem Lebewesen) desto weniger ist es uns Wert. 

Das ist das Problem, was wir haben. Wir respektieren nicht das, was so oder so wertvoll ist. Sei es uns Menschen gegenseitig, Pflanzen, Tiere und Rohstoffe. Es gibt genug Ressourcen, darum treten wir die Erde mit den Füßen, Tag für Tag. Der eine mehr, der andere weniger. 

Ich weiß nicht woher diese „Gabe“ stammt, warum wir so sind. 

Fluch oder Segen?
