I've learned a lot in my career as an investor, entrepreneur and intellectually curious person. I've learned to analyze situations in dozens of different ways.

I've learned tactics and tools for winning at a lot of different games and fields.

There is one tool that rises above all the others. 

This tool is one that is more valuable than any other tool you could possibly have in your arsenal.

Are you ready?

This tool is called obsession.

Obsession has a lot of negative connotations around it, but allow me to dispel them all by telling you how obsession has turned from a negative to a positive in my life.

When I was younger, I used to be obsessed with a lot of bad habits - watching TV, video games and binge eating, to name a few of the worst ones.

As I've grown older and more curious about the world however, I've learned the value of becoming obsessed with productive things like reading, writing, investing, learning, eating healthy, exercise, etc.

The key to obsession is to learn how to aim it.

I learned (and honestly, continue to learn) the power of aiming your obsession. I learned that your obsession is like a huge loose cannon. 

If you can somehow maneuver this cannon in the right direction, then you can make things happen that other people think are just completely impossible and outlandish.

Some great examples of famous people who have this same kind of tool at their disposal? Take a look at people like Steve Jobs, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

These are some famous entrepreneurs and thinkers who learned how to point their loose cannons in the right direction. They're the ones who make leaps and bounds of progress ahead of the competition because they're so fucking obsessed with their mission that they become blind to everything else and just laser focus goals into completion.

It's easier said than done. But the only way it gets done is when you get started.
