I agree with you, I sat in a position recently where I reviewed some of my more recent interactions with people in my various networks and realized that my approach to how I engage with my peers was not being conducive and change was needed. This post has solidified my thoughts.

It is extremely important to engage with those who show interest and share your ideas and thoughts to keep building those relationships.

I agree. I'm in a position where I may be out of a job if there are layoffs and I started to feel how important it is to have friends who can help you find so.something during hard times.

Couldn't agree more as a traveler myself, I meet people everyhwere I go from all kinds of places and many of the locals too. To lead a life without a fixated desk job requires effort to survive. Courses are goo if they advance your knowledge in the field of your interest and help to improve the knowledge base of what you market; it can be used in your encounters.

@tripolemus, better late than never! We need to work on building our networks at every opportunity we have got, by utilising and valuing the precious time we have to ourselves. Its never late to connect.

I love this and fully heartedly agree! I'm an actor and networking has developed into shmoozing which has evolved into inauthenticity and superficial connection. I always want to find the relationships that are equal and exciting- I don't want to work for someone who doesn't truly want to work with me. Thanks for this post- love it!

I will like to relate this to steemit. to a large extent one's success on this platform depends on how he or she interacts with the community. Building relationship is  fundamental. There are cases where people get jobs and contacts based on the people they know. This might not be seen as fair but we have all benefited in some way because of our relationships

I strongly agree... lately people are having a hard time building meaningful relationship. Authentic relationship defines of who we are and what we are. Reward yourself with good people and life's journey will be easy because you have someone to share it with.

That's absolutely true! I hate the word networking too. It signifies that we have to become someone else to please others. I believe that if you are truly yourself, you'll inevitably meet people and opportunities that will enable you to nurture the relationships in a genuine way. 
Just be open, genuine and most importantly learn to correctly introduce yourself.
