In case you have missed it, Jim Power is back and this time he is coming to more platforms than computers and the Super Nintendo. Piko Interactive have picked up the rights to Jim Power and are hard at work to ensure the franchise sees release on many more platforms than originally planned. One being the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). There is so much more though.

<h2>Fixing what was broken</h2>
Anyone that has played the Super Nintendo (SNES) version from years ago knows about that annoying parallax scrolling. That is one of the first things that Piko set out to fix, I believe anyhow, when they acquired the rights to Jim Power. The parallax is not all they are fixing in this version though.

The Super Nintendo version now will feature level graphics and adds a hit system which helps balance the game more fairly. This is great news for anyone asking themselves, “Why should I support this version if I own the original”. Now you know.

<h2>New publisher, new platforms in sight</h2>
One thing that Piko discovered in the asset transfer for Jim Power was a nearly complete Sega Genesis edition. While incomplete, this version was very far along in development. Some additional time in the development oven has resulted in the Sega Genesis version being completed, new levels added and box art and such created. Cool times to be a Sega Genesis gamer, especially with the <a href="http://bit.ly/2uuf9mg">Sega Genesis Mini having recently released</a>.

Other platforms supported by this Kickstarter include the TurboGrafx CD-ROM, Amiga CD32, and Nintendo Entertainment System. The Turbografx CD-ROM version brings the former Japanese exclusive to gamers across the world for the first time. The Amiga CD32 version will feature the soundtrack from the TurboGrafx CD-ROM version coupled with the Commodore Amiga version of Jim Power. The Amiga CD32 version will also include the DOS version of Jim Power.

Now, that NES version, that is the completely new game created by retrogaming programming guru Shiro. This is an all-new adventure for Jim Power and is probably the best reason to support this Kickstarter in some form (it is an all or nothing campaign). The game looks great as you can see in the embedded video above.
