Streemian Review, From Curation to Scheduling Posts
Streemian seems to be one of those sites that a lot of people don’t know about. While I am no pro at this stuff, I am going to do my best to give my thoughts on the site, what I find useful about it, and why I think you should be using it too.

## Before we get started ##
First, I am not against @eSteem in any way. Streemian is quite similar, just a website that runs in your browser rather than an app on your phone. Since I prefer writing on my desktop more than I do with my tablet/Bluetooth keyboard combo, I lean more towards website solutions. My tablet is not that great (Nextbook Aries 8A which features one gig of RAM) so apps like eSteem take forever to load, cutting into the precious little time I have to write while at my day job. Streemian on the other hand loads quickly, as most webpages do on the Nextbook so I can get to work quicker and easier.

## A heads up on fees ##
First, to use Streemian there is a small fee that is used to verify you are the owner of the account you are linking to Streemian. When I signed up it was 0.001 of a Steem Backed Dollar. One tenth of a cent is not that much to try something new out, at least I thought so. Your feelings may vary.

Also, not all Streemians options are free to the user. There are some things listed as being “premium” but I have not encountered a fee for using them, nor have I played with them all that much.

For the purposes of this review I am going to stick to the stuff I was interested in. Article scheduling and syndication.

## Article scheduling ##
This is the biggest reason I signed up for Streemian. Since I work during the hours that I have discovered most people will be available to upvote and comment I needed to find a solution. Article scheduling was the feature of an older article I had written, at that time not knowing about Streemian. Considering none of the commenters mentioned it, I figure it was not known to them either.

## Scheduling an article ##
First, Streemian is set to Universal Time Coordinated (UTC) time. This is just a time zone which happens to be based on what time it is in Greenwich, England. I am in the Central Time Zone so I must add five hours to the time I want the article to post. If I want to have an article go live at seven a.m. I must schedule it at 12:00 pm UTC for that day.

This little detail messed with me the first few times I posted. I had a few articles that I thought would do well post overnight, rather than during the morning I have discovered as prime posting time. The articles did horrible, not even picking up as the day went on so maybe I was wrong about them being good in the first place.

Posting an article to Streemian to be published later looks a lot like posting directly on Steemit. Below the time and date is the title and tags (tags normally being at that bottom) and then the message body section. Simple and clean.

## Posting may not be as easy ##
This is a heads up that using Streemian you will have to use the Steemit posting code extensively. There is no auto embedding picture option available. You will have to host pics elsewhere and bring the direct link to Streemian, using the code to embed it into Steemit.

Youtube videos still auto embed with just the URL. Nothing different there.

For most users, using the Steemit posting code is no big deal. For others, it could be a bit of a headache to learn but it opens up so much once you do.

## Syndication ##
I am still working on this one but the idea is that it will bring your blog content from another site (anything that produces an RSS feed). I am interested in getting this working but I have had trouble with one part – I run a couple of multi-author websites. The author RSS feed doesn’t give me just my articles, it is returning all the articles from the site no matter who wrote it. That is a problem because that would become plagiarism of my staff’s articles.

The steps for syndication are simple. You put in the RSS address of your site then set the tags to be used. Since I run a retro gaming site I would pick tags for that area of gaming (games, gaming, retro, retrogaming, videogames) and click “add feed”.

You are then e-mailed a short piece of text that needs to be placed in your next blog post to show ownership of the site. This is just a verification step and is painless.

I may end up starting a Steemit account for my two websites so that I can properly credit the authors their pay from Steemit.

## Streemian, a wonderful option expands the power of Steemit ##
If you are a power user of Steemit then you are already butting heads over the scheduling posts. Streemian solves that problem, and many others (curation, trails, etc). I focused on the two parts I care about right now in this review but there are many other options available (you can create an RSS feed for an author using Streemian) that can expand the power of Steemit.

Check out Streemian at www.streemian.com I am not embedding that link so that readers can see it clearly in case they would rather type it in directly for security purposes.

@cryptokas ·
thanks i learned something new. I was wondering if it was possible to shedule posts. The options here at steemit are minimal. I will try out esteem or streemian when I start posting my own content.

@triverse ·
eSteem and Streemian are get choices though it greatly depends on how you are creating posts as far as which would be better for you. eSteem is fine for mobile, but so is Streemian (one is an app and one is a browser window) while Streemian takes the cake as far as scheduling posts on a desktop.
