Transformers Forged to Fight has just launched on Android thanks to Kabam. If you have been living under a rock for the last few months (or simply not a big mobile gamer) you may not know about this one. Basically, Transformers Forged to Fight is the classic franchise meets Injustice Gods Among Us with some [Power Rangers Legacy Wars](https://steemit.com/games/@triverse/power-rangers-legacy-wars-android-review) mixed in for good measure. There is a lot going on in this one but it works. It works so well.

First of all, there are In App Purchases (IAP) so don't just load Transformers Forged to Fight and hand your phone to your little sibling. The interesting thing is, you are given the number one Transformer right up front. Yep, they literally give you the one Transformer you might have paid good money to acquire without having to grind for days/months. Starting with Optimus Prime, you must face both enemies and friendly Transformers. Even friendly looking Transformers are not always that considering where they may have come from, same for enemy looking ones.

The story behind Transformers Forged to Fight is interesting and ties the various generations of Transformers coming together, well together. Optimus Prime, and a human friend to the Autobots, is traveling back to Cybertron with the intent of breathing life back into the robot home world. Along the way the ship they are on experiences a temporal portal of some sort and end up on an unknown planet, not even Teletran-1 knows it. You are not alone either as other Decepticons, Dinobots, Autobots, etc have found themselves here and it is a battle for limited resources. This means you are going to see/fight characters that were once friends but in their timeline/history they may be enemies of the Autobots, or they could be friendly while carrying the Decepticon moniker.

Fighting is quick and easy. The way the limitation of touch screen devices is overcome is quite interesting. Up close, tapping the right side of the screen gives you quick hits. Hold for a heavy/alternate form attack and swipe to do a medium attack. Swipe the left side of the screen towards/away from your opponent to move that way. Swipe up or down to evade in the third dimension. Finally, hold on the left side and you block. Simple. It works. Along the bottom of the screen you will see an icon building up power - this is your special attack (Optimus Prime has an energy axe for instance) that makes for impressive finishes to matches. 

Between levels you are building your base around the Ark and powering up the Transformers you have available. You are also given a 3D path around the planet. This path is pretty linear as you are traveling till you hit an opponent location. Sometimes there is a split in the path and you get valuable intelligence reports on what is known about the various options. This was pretty cool.

I cannot stress how cool it is to see Generation 1 Autobots fighting later generations Decepticons. There is just something cool about it. For me, there is more of a personal tie to Transformers Forged to Fight than there was with [Power Rangers Legacy Wars](https://steemit.com/games/@triverse/power-rangers-legacy-wars-android-review) (I stopped being a fan of Power Rangers after the original team left).
