The consequences of a really bad decision

I recently returned from a dentist appointment.  I haven't been to the dentist in 4 years.  That was a bad decision.  I neglected my health and now I have to make it up.

It was sobering to go to the dentist after so long luckily for me there were no cavities.  I have an extensive amount of plaque and gum issues though and I'm going to need to handle that.  

We've all made bad decisions sometimes those bad decisions have really strong consequences.  Sometimes those decisions lead us to good places.  Sometimes it's necessary for us to suffer for what we've done and to learn from those problems.

In my lifespan I've made some really bad decisions.  I've neglected maintenance at my house, I have acted with cowardice, I have put things off and that has led me to problems.

Procrastination is my bad decision

In the past I've written about procrastination.  There's a reason for that and it's because it's my issue.  I understand that I procrastinate things I put them off maintenance included in this leads to bad decisions.  Thankfully, I am a diligent toothbrusher or else it would have been a lot worse my mouth today.  As it stands I'm going to have to pay for this monetarily and with pain but I got away easy.

The best way to handle our issues is to confront them.  Bad decisions is something we do and what prevents us from growth is feeling embarrassed.  I had to tell the dentist today that I hadn't been to the dentist in 4 years that's a long time I felt like an idiot.  Here was a person who went to school to study teeth and he's looking at a great example of what not to do I felt like a plum fool.  But he assured me and guess what I'm going to have to end up paying for it so I have learned no kind words are going to make up what I'm going to have to do deal with I have to learn from my mistakes and I have to go forward.

They say that wise people learn from the mistakes of others trust me this is a mistake you're going to want to learn from.  Don't procrastinate don't put off maintenance those two things are going to cause you a lot of issues.   Confront your problems head on as soon as you can don't delay.  I'm going to be fine and I'm going to have a much wider smile but I got lucky.
