<center> Can you say "I don't love you?"</center>

This is my first time participating in this initiative, I have been reading a lot but this is the first time I feel like I have something to say... and I'm still on time haha. Let's start with a fun fact: I'm a Spanish speaker and my English is far from being the best, but I feel more creative in this language than in Spanish,this is why I write first in English and when I do translate, I do it from it to Spanish.

For an effective communication the information must be true, if the information is false then of course there is going to be a lot of misunderstanding. But we fear the true, we find it offensive when somebody is "too honest" but not when they say "white lies", and even those white lies can cause more and longer problems than the ugly true.

This is specially true in relationships, we tend to assume than everything is said, that all the things we don't like about the other or they don't like about us should be either forgiven for the sake of love or should be corrected for the other person even when we haven't tell them that we don't like it, so this is a problem, even lovers should say the true.

In my (short) experience, is very important to say the true, I'm still struggling with the whens and hows to tell the true, but I learned that even if you know you will hurt with the true, the lies are worst.

It takes bravery to tell somebody you don't love them when you don't love'em but you like'em, you don't want to hurt'em but also you can't stay there because it just get you deeper in a relationship that you already know is going to no where.

I knew before getting into the relation ship that it maybe won't work for me, for my character and way of living, or just not being ready, but that is the kind of stuff I can't measure the level of ready-ness, I jumped in and it was fine, it was a whole year long, but at the end I wasn't giving everything, I never said "I love you" because I didn't feel it, and he noticed it, because he asked why I was acting different.

At that point, I liked him, loved him but more as a friend, I didn't want to hurt him but guess what? I was already doing that with my distance, and that distance wasn't on purpose, it just happened. At some point while talking about it I had to say it, clear, out loud "I don't love you" and that wasn't funny, I didn't liked it but it was the true.

Did he preferred the true? I don´t really know, but I do know that it gave him the time to go look for his possibilities and not to get stuck we me who was already clear with my feelings. 
From my said, I felt better after the break up, not happy, I didn't hate our relationship, but good because now we both knew what  was going on.

So communication is not just for when you feel good with it, is also for when the absence of communication can create a false sensation of happiness and stability that isn't there. Is not just for a fight, is also to prevent a fight, a relationship doesn't need to have a messy break up, in can be a healthy end, where both parts can keep talking, knowing that they did nothing wrong, it just didn't work. 

That's how I think, no idea if it is correct or if this fits completely the topic of this initiative but well, humans are social animals, we are always in relationships, with family, friends or partners, and we developed languages just to communicate so we can grow and protect our relationships.
