# Review of the 2023 Blockchain Industry Hotspots
In the first half of the year, there were almost no hotspots.
➤ The Hong Kong Web3 Conference was the first hotspot, with related tokens: CFX, ACH, KEY.
➤ ChatGPT ignited interest in AI, marking the second hotspot, with the related token: AGIX.
➤ BNBGreenfield made decentralized storage slightly more popular, barely qualifying as the third hotspot. Related tokens: AR, FIL, STORJ, SC.
➤ The inscriptions gained attention from March to May, but this was just a brewing stage.
Compared to the second half, the first half of the year had almost no hotspots, with BTC accumulating.
In the second half:
➤ FriendTech launched a new SocialFi model, inspiring many imitations, becoming the first hotspot of the latter half of the year.
➤ Telegram bots also gained some popularity, with imitations emerging. Related token: Unibot
The third quarter was mostly a period of correction, until October 23rd, when "the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit made a decision in the lawsuit between Grayscale and the SEC. The SEC was required to reconsider its application to convert Grayscale's GBTC into a Bitcoin spot ETF, and the SEC chose not to appeal." This marked the start of market movement.

The second biggest hotspot was Web3 social and gaming. FriendTech and Xpet both related to social aspects and were more than just social platforms; Xpet related to gaming, and Bigtime was a blockchain game.
