Keeping My Broiler Birds Pen Clean Is The Best Way To Keep My Birds Healthy

It's with great pleasure that am welcoming everyone to my blog and I hope you're all doing good and having a great day. It is another beautiful day to be here and also a busy day in my broiler birds pen as I will be sharing with you about the recent activities that I carryout in my bird's pen.

It was a kind of busy day for me anytime I want to get rid of my broiler birds litters because it is the activity that I termed the "most stressful" when raising broiler birds.

Bedding is one of the most important factor needed when raising broiler birds due to many benefits it brings to the birds and the farmers as well. Laying bedding for poultry birds gives them the comfort needed, it easily absorb the bird's scoop, it prevent bad odours from the pen and also help to prevent diseases. While the birds litters benefits is not only for the birds but also serve some purpose for the farmers as it can be another source of income for the farmers since poultry birds scoop contain nitrogen, it can be used as fertilizer to help boost soil fertility.

But despite all the benefits of bedding in poultry farm mentioned above, it can cause a serious problems to your birds especially disease outbreak if it is not properly managed or take care of and that's the reason why I always removed the bedding and replace it with new one anytime I noticed that the bedding is wet or some bad odours are coming from the pen which usually leads to great masses of flies in the pen and I really hate it and that's why I love to keep my broiler birds pen clean all the time.

The one thing I realized is that, I will be replacing my broiler birds pen bedding often starting from this moment and that is because they scoop more when they grow bigger and this can get their pen to be messy in a blink of an eye.

Don't forget that the best way to keep your birds healthy is to keep their pen clean and replacing their bedding time to time is very important.

I love to clean my birds pen during the weekend since that is the best day to do such stressful work. I keep it simple when replacing bedding in my broiler birds pen and what I always do is that, I chased the birds in to one half of the pen and pack the the dirty bedding by scrubbing the pen floor with shovel to remove the bedding that have glued to the floor surface.

Immediately am done packing, I lay new bedding to the half part of the pen and pursue the birds over and do the same thing with the other sides, and am done.
