#### today I learned that steemit.com is already able to encrypt and decrypt memos.

#### If you want to sent another steemian an encrypted message, just add the hash sign and a space (# ) at the start of the memo. That's all.

#### Only sender and receiver of this transfer are able to read the memo in plain text.

#### All other steemit user will only see a blank memo field.

#### Of course the memo is not empty, if you use another frontend like busy.com, you see the text of the memo. It's encrypted:

#### I also checked the network transfer, and it seems that the memo is decrypted on client side (in the browser), so steemit.com should not be able to read/decrypt the memo.

#### I assume that steemit.com uses the memo-key for encryption/decryption of the memos. If you change your password and all of your keys, you will probably not be able to read older encrypted memos.
