 For this week's edition of Wednesday Walk, I would like to share a few images taken from my vacation to northern California a month ago. During my trip, I had the opportunity to experience a variety of environments ranging from the hustle and bustle of San Fransisco, to the foggy beaches of Pointe Reyes, to the towering giant coast redwoods of Muir and Armstrong Woods. Though I have had the pleasure of seeing most of these locations a few years prior during my time as a college student, the beauty and magnificence of these region of the world continues to amaze me. Over the course of the next few weeks, I will will share images related to hikes taken during this trip and the stunning sights found along the way. This week, I will start with my personal favorites: the redwoods.    Walking along the path in Muir Woods National Monument, only the presence of other visitors reminds you that you have not been transported back to an ancient time before humans ever set foot on the North American continent. There is something about this wood that imbues a palpable sense of timelessness - that despite the ever-growing encroachment of people from San Francisco just to the South, life has changed little here over the last few thousand years. Light trickles through thin gaps high in the canopy, smattering across the redwood sorrel that carpets the shady understory below, all while the redwoods inch there way higher and higher into the heavens.    Many of the trees in this woods are hundreds if not thousands of years old. It is incredibly humbling stand dwarfed beneath giants that were here far before me and will be here long thereafter. What stories would they be able to tell if they had the mouths to tell them?    Though logging has since removed the vast majority of the coastal redwoods from their historic range, trace groves of old-growth remain along the western coast of the United States; sites well worth the visit for any lover of nature. No picture could ever hope to capture the breathtaking nobility of these trees, but I hope that you enjoy these pictures nonetheless. I love the way the light enters between the foliage, you got some stunning shots. These trees are magnificient! An ancient story says that if you meditate next to a redwood tree, you can tap into its knowledge.
