Today's ***Index4Index Daily Inspired Motivation*** is about *simplicity being an essential component of reliability*. This one is probably a no-brainer. The fewer parts and interactions, the more consistent something will be. Period.

I've so deeply come to apreciate the elegance of simplicity over the years. The more complex something is, whether it's an operating system or a business operation, the more prone it will be to something going awry, and throwing a wrench in reliability. With increasing complexity comes more numerous points of failure, which then adds to the challenge of trouble shooting what went wrong.

One of the guiding principles of my favorite operating system in the world, *Arch Linux*, is simplicity.

This has resulted in a technologically elegant, fast, efficient, flexible, and always-up-to-date operating system that is a joy with which to work or play. To me, *nothing* else compares!

How does simplicity relate to business and entrepreneurial success? If we keep what we're doing simple, clear, and focused, I can guarantee you that even our success will be far more reliable than if we allowed ourselves to get mired in the tangle of unneeded complexity.

As we are planning and implementing something important, if we can make some aspect of it simpler, it would behoove us to do so. Our future self will indeed thank us! Clarify, simplify, and focus!
