Here is the result of a Splinterlands tournament from yesterday according to the new Anytime format:

The first 6 places:

Does it really make sense to organize a tournament in such a way that if you win all the fights you can land in 1st place and receive 27,500 DEC prize money or in 17th place with 4,000 DEC prize money?

Where is the sporting value if you can NOT be first even with victories in all fights ? , f.e. because unfortunately you were randomly divided into a group with only 8 players and therefore have one fight less?

The question arises anyway whether it is a great idea to set up a tournament so that in the end 17 players win all fights and then award the prizes according to any criteria such as tie-break or rating at the start of the tournament. The first criterion, the direct comparison, is out of the question, because of course none of these 17 players fought against another from the top 17.

Incidentally, I wrote to @yabapmatt in the Discord two days ago and made suggestions on how to do this better in the same way as chess tournaments - he did not answer.
