Hey guys, I invested $150 and made $1370 as of today! I don't have much, but of what I've made, I owe it all to Steemit! This platform was the start of me truly coming to understand cryptocurrency and for that I am thankful to the community as a whole, for the informative post, constant support on projects, endless contest and challenges. Steemit is the internet 3.0 and that's coming from a guy that has a salary job as a social media marketer. 

<h3>Community & Friends </h3>
I want to also thank my friend @chiefmappster for introducing me to steemit. We've been scheming since we first met one year in college. Myself being a social media marketer/digital marketer; I have a few skill-sets that can be particularly useful to startups and anyone that wants to make content or get it in front of the right eyes. Sometimes you meet people and you just know that they have a business mind. I think we both saw that in each other and continue to. I'm glad he looped me in when he found Steemit this summer. 

<h3>Finding Steemit - Not yet a movie title, js </h3>
After finding Steemit, I knew it "sounded to good to be true", but I'd also heard about block-chain technology, and understood the concept of mining data (social media marketing coming into play). It clicked immediately, yes this can make money, should make money, for many years, and it's just starting. My next question, is it less than $5 to enter? Oh it's free? I'm in. 

I began watching/listening to every steemit podcast I could find. Eventually this rabbit hole lead me to the bigger elephant in the room, Bitcoin. Then, even more so than Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies. Smurf, this is the new stock market, you've wanted this since you walked into your parents room and saw your father starring at a screen of scrolling numbers. What do the up and down arrows mean? What's a bull? Aren't bears gay? What's a candle-stick? All questions that I soon had the answers to after a months long dive into articles and videos. Time that I felt was need since Bitcoin had just hit a high of 4K and was far too high for me to consider entering the market at the time. Little did I know.

Instead, I decided to wait a few weeks, and buy another coin, which I would then learn to trade until it became enough to buy 1 full eth! Yes, that would do it!

Well, it kind of went that way. A friend of mine who'd just made a bunch of money off of ETH was hitting me up to do a logo for his new electric bike startup elecmobileusa.com. I gave him far too great a deal for 4 logos (the friend/old roommate special) of $80 , which he questioned if it was too high xD. Anyway, I took this and bought my for LTC (litecoin) at $74 USD. A few weeks went buy and the price of litecoin fell, and continued to, maybe I shouldn't trade... I started to think that holding long-term might be best for my noob ass. But then something happened.

LTC dipped all the way down to $40 USD and I noticed something, a word which I'd become all to familiar with in marketing and advertising, I noticed...an arbitrage. Regardless of current sentiment LTC was far undervalued. At the bar minimum is was $10 undervalued, BTC was 5K now, for gods sake! I had to do something about it! So, I did, I bought 2 LTC that day and converted my previous coin to Steem and SBD, it was about time I learned how @blocktrades worked anywho. It was a valuable lesson, and my first time sending cryptocurrency to an address( exhilarating, no seriously, try it).

At first I sat on my Steem and SBD , converting some of the Steem to SP immediately (foolish for someone with no money). Soon enough, I was worth 1 cent per vote and I had a post make it into @curie! I couldn't wait for the pay-out! While I waited for 7 days to pass I studied the best ways to spend Steem and SBD. Apparently there are these things called vote bots, and they can help give you a profitable leg up. That sounds pretty cool, I should look into that, I thought. I'll have at least 25 SBD to play with after this pay-out...Then came the pay-out, 100% SP. Well...I wasn't made, but I was that much more educated about Steemit, and determined to read that much more, so that I could learn to manage my earnings the way I wanted. 


<h3> Learning to Trade </h3>
Over the next 2 months I did just that. I learned the ins and outs of SBD and Steem and how to move them to an exchange come that faithful day when I'm ready to power down and have some kids. Well, my friends, that day still hasn't come, but SBD did moon, bringing me my first $100 in btc from Steemit. The other pivitol move was the LTC that I had already converted to BTC when it was worth  $80 USD. I split it. 50% btc, 10% thc, 20% ada, 20% eth...I would soon learn the value of penny crypto and began to find those that  I felt were undervalued.

My routine became a mix of my salary job, gaming company, crypto webinars and videos/interviews, and...live trading streams on youtube. I really felt like I should at least here the words coming out of the keyboards of others in the crypto-sphere, and boy is it glorious.

I could spend all night in there, and I have...on sparing occasions, I actually try to be a better boyfriend than trader, so it conflicts xD. Still, I found this meme and whole set of them created from a contest that I believe was run by @acidyo ...might have been @officalfuzzy. I'm sorry for mixing you guys up, but if you don't know...follow one of these two and vote for steem witness, because they are of goat status here on steemit and imop in crypto in general. Look up to you gents, thanks for everything you do. I don't know if this meme was actually entered in the contest, but there are a whole lot more where this came from. It was enough to make me laugh and make my girlfriend snare at me with this look of "how is that funny?"


<h3>Time to Start Trading!</h3>

On November 15th I decided I would start trading the $127 worth of BTC I had. By Dec 16th I'd made enough to start a portfolio for my startup and hold my own coins for long term investment. I also figured this would be best for avoiding income tax(look things up and find your own way out!). 

This is truly a blessing for our startup, which for the last year and half has paid for everything (advertising, art, event prizes weekly) out of pocket. It has all felt worthwhile since our fans seem to love the experience we bring them, and continue to comeback each week to view our streams and interact with our social media posts. In 2016 we amassed a following of more than 20K  gamers via our various social media platforms (which was partly lost due to an account issue on instagram, but we're back). In 2018 we will be converting our audience into Steemit users to help fuel our competitive gaming community.
