Existem muitas estratégias e composições diferentes em **[Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=underlock)**, mas uma das que eu mais gosto é a **Reflect Damage**. O nome resume bem qual é o objetivo dessa composição e neste post eu irei apresentar como ela funciona, seus pontos fortes e fracos, algumas unidades muito boas para compor seu time e apresentar batalhas para demonstrar na prática essa composição. Eu espero que vocês gostem!

Essa estratégia pode funcionar nos três tipos de dano https://i.imgur.com/lVDQivZ.png https://i.imgur.com/ZthRUla.png https://i.imgur.com/DHYYqYs.png?1 existentes no jogo, entretanto na grande maioria das vezes as composições serão feitas visando os ataques físicos e mágicos, então mantenha isso em mente quando for montar sua composição, dando preferência em escolhê-la quando houver menos chances do oponente montar um time de arqueiros ou em uma batalha com a regra *Broken Arrows* https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/splinterlands/images/8/8b/Combat-rule_broken-arrows.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/25?cb=20210209075102, ou quando houver grandes chances do oponente fazê-lo você pode optar por montar uma composição visando counterá-lo *(mas que pode ser relativamente menos efetiva considerando que há menos opções de cartas com **Return Fire** https://imgur.com/m6ZWYq8.png)*

#### <center><strong>CONTRA UNIDADES FÍSICAS https://i.imgur.com/DHYYqYs.png?1</strong></center>

Caso preveja que seu oponente optará por composições físicas, você deverá montar uma composição utilizando unidades tanks com a habilidade *Thorns* https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/website/abilities/small/ability_thorns.png na primeira e/ou na última posição, pois são os lugares em que serão direcionados a maioria dos ataques físicos. Para aumentar a eficácia dessa habilidade você deverá utilizar também alguma unidade com a habilidade *Amplify* https://i.imgur.com/61YdoSH.png pois assim você fará com que cada ataque que o oponente der nos seus monstros será devolvido *3 de dano* ao invés de 2 contra o atacante!

#### <center><strong>CONTRA UNIDADES MÁGICAS https://i.imgur.com/lVDQivZ.png</strong></center>

Essa estratégia também funciona perfeitamente contra os magos, porém é importante observarmos que o calculo do dano refletido funciona de maneira diferente do Thorns. Enquanto a habilidade anterior causa 2 de dano fixo *(aumentado para 3 com **Amplify**)*, a habilidade **Magic Reflect** https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/website/abilities/small/ability_magic-reflect.png faz com que o alvo receba metade do dano causado, ou seja, se ele causar 1 de dano será refletido 1 de dano. Se causar 2 será refletido 1, causando 3 o dano refletido aumentará para 2 e assim vai escalonando conforme o dano for atingindo valores ímpares.

Mesmo o cálculo sendo diferente você ainda poderá utilizar uma unidade com **Amplify** https://i.imgur.com/61YdoSH.png para aumentar o dano causado, e neste caso o resultado pode ser ainda melhor, pois enquanto no Thorns você aumenta +1 de dano *(+50%)* com o Magic Reflect você poderá dobrar o dano refletido das unidades com 1 de dano *(+100%)*, otimizando ainda mais esse combo.

Perceba que o oponente até utilizou uma composição parecida com reflect, mas ele sofreu muito mais pois eu variei o tipo de dano das minhas unidades, amplifiquei o efeito do dano refletido e ainda reduzi o dano das unidades mágicas com a habilidade **Silence** https://i.imgur.com/kxkTXqq.png, o prato completo!

#### <center><strong>CONTRA UNIDADES ARQUEIRAS https://i.imgur.com/ZthRUla.png</strong></center>

Neste caso você deverá optar por tanques que possuam a habilidade **Return Fire** https://imgur.com/m6ZWYq8.png para poder refletir o dano dos arqueiros, lembrando que o cálculo de dano e o efeito do Amplify funciona da mesma maneira que os ataques mágicos.

Caso você não possua unidades que tenham essa habilidade a maneira mais fácil de conseguir fazer com que todo o seu time reflita o dano dos arqueiros é utilizar o invocador **[Lir Deepswimmer](https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/cards_by_level/untamed/Lir%20Deepswimmer_lv1.png)**.

Infelizmente eu não possuo nenhuma partida para demonstração pois eu realmente não gosto de montar composições focadas em refletir dano de arqueiros pois o oponente nunca montará uma composição APENAS com unidades arqueiras, sendo assim menos efetiva do que as outras duas habilidades mencionadas anteriormente.

Há também a possibilidade de conseguir refletir diferentes tipos de dano utilizando a mesma unidade, mas saiba que são poucas as opções que possuem duas ou três das habilidades **Thorns https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/website/abilities/small/ability_thorns.png Magic Reflect https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/website/abilities/small/ability_magic-reflect.png** e **Return Fire https://imgur.com/m6ZWYq8.png** juntas e na maioria você precisará utilizá-las em leveis mais altos. Vamos dar uma olhada em quais são as melhores unidades para conseguir esse multi-reflect.

Deixarei uma última batalha para mostrar como o **Lord Arianthus** é realmente fenomenal e lida facilmente contra unidades físicas e mágicas *(o final da partida foi inesperado)*.

There are many different strategies and compositions in **[Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=underlock)**, but one of my favorites is **Reflect Damage**. The name sums up well what the purpose of this composition is and in this post I will present how it works, its strengths and weaknesses, some very good units to compose your team and present battles to demonstrate this composition in practice. I hope you like it!

## <div class="phishy"><center><strong>REFLECT DAMAGE</strong></center></div>

This strategy can work on all three types of damage https://i.imgur.com/lVDQivZ.png https://i.imgur.com/ZthRUla.png https://i.imgur.com/DHYYqYs.png?1 in the game, however most of the time the compositions will be made aiming at physical and magical attacks, so keep this in mind when building your composition, giving preference to choosing it when there is less chance for the opponent to assemble a team of archers or in a battle with the *Broken Arrows* rule https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/splinterlands/images/8/8b/Combat-rule_broken-arrows.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/25?cb=20210209075102, or when there is a high chance that the opponent will do so, you can choose to set up a composition to counter him *(but which can be relatively less effective considering that there are fewer card options with **Return Fire** https://imgur.com/m6ZWYq8.png)*

#### <center><strong>AGAINST PHYSICAL UNITS https://i.imgur.com/DHYYqYs.png?1</strong></center>

If you anticipate that your opponent will opt for physical compositions, you must build a composition using tanks with the ability *Thorns* https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/website/abilities/small/ability_thorns.png in the first and/or last position, as these are the places where most physical attacks will be directed. To increase the effectiveness of this skill you should also use some unit with the skill *Amplify* https://i.imgur.com/61YdoSH.png so that every attack the opponent makes on your monsters will be returned *3 damage* instead of 2 against the attacker!

#### <center><strong>AGAINST MAGIC UNITS https://i.imgur.com/lVDQivZ.png</strong></center>

This strategy also works perfectly against mages, however it is important to note that the calculation of reflected damage works differently from Thorns. While the previous skill does 2 fixed damage *(increased to 3 with **Amplify**)*, the skill **Magic Reflect** https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/website/abilities/small/ability_magic-reflect.png causes the target to take half the damage dealt, ie if it does 1 damage it will reflect 1 damage. If it does 2 it will be reflected 1, causing 3 the reflected damage will increase to 2 and so it will scale as the damage reaches odd values.

Even though the calculation is different you can still use a unit with **Amplify** https://i.imgur.com/61YdoSH.png to increase the damage done, and in this case the result can be even better, because while in Thorns you increase +1 damage *(+50%)* with Magic Reflect you can double the reflected damage of units with 1 damage *(+100%)*, further optimizing this combo.

Note that the opponent even used a composition similar to reflect, but he suffered much more because I varied the damage type of my units, amplified the effect of reflected damage and even reduced the damage of magic units with the ability **Silence** https://i.imgur.com/kxkTXqq.png, the full dish!

If you don't have units that have this ability, the easiest way to get your entire team to reflect the damage of archers is to use the summoner **[Lir Deepswimmer](https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/cards_by_level/untamed/Lir%20Deepswimmer_lv1.png)**.

Unfortunately I don't have any demo matches as I really don't like to build compositions focused on reflecting archer damage as the opponent will never build a composition with ONLY archer units, thus being less effective than the other two abilities mentioned above.

There is also the possibility of being able to reflect different types of damage using the same unit, but know that there are few options that have two or three of the abilities **Thorns https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/website/abilities/small/ability_thorns.png Magic Reflect https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/website/abilities/small/ability_magic-reflect.png** and **Return Fire https://imgur.com/m6ZWYq8.png** together and mostly you you will need to use them at higher levels. These are in my opinion the main merged damage reflectors and they are extremely functional and in these cases you should definitely combine them with the **Amplify** skill https://i.imgur.com/61YdoSH.png to potentiate all this damage.

I'll leave one last battle to show you how **Lord Arianthus** really is phenomenal and easily handles both physical and magical units *(the end of the game was unexpected)*.

Lobstradamus and Lord Arianthus are two cards I love to have on deck and your article really broke down why. My weakness in game play is when Opponent comes at me with alot of archer, so far I've only tried to study the use of magic attackers, but lose to archers especially the double strike types.

Atleast I know now to get more thorn ability cards or Mylor once faced with Melee attacker. Thank you for that, always helpful blog🔥
