My Paramotor Flying Machine

Lots of people ask about what these are and how to learn to fly them. I may explain more in some future posts, but in short, this is a paramotor, or sometimes called a powered paraglider. It is backpack motor with a seat harness attached which you use to strap it on, run into the sky and then sit and relax to fly it in the air.

This one has anengine built in Italy that has about 25hp, equivalent to around 150lbs of thrust to propel you. You have a paraglider attached that you stear simply by a couple of brake lines and use them to turn either direction and to flare when you come in to land to slow down just as you touchdown.

It definitely takes practice to learn to fly it and here in Canada, you have to have a license for it and take proper instruction. Anyone can do it, and it is the most free form of aviation with the most options of flying locations and least amount of restrictions.

Anyway, it breaks down in aobut 5 minutes small enough to put in the back seat of a truck or on a hitch carrier as is. I live in the country with a lot of farm land around me, so there are plenty of roads I can just stop on and take off from to fly new areas. Its an awesome hobby and a great way to fly.
