"My uncle concluded his program, so he will be returning home next week. He's going to bring lots of goodies for us, "she boasted to her friend Vivian.

"Wait, Edith, is it the same uncle you said never brings anything for you guys whenever he visits while he was in Nigeria?  The same uncle who always complains about not having money? 

"Edith nodded, Yes, that same uncle. But then this is different there's no way he will travel out and not bring anything for us, my dad has really tried for him, Dad is the reason he got this far, so the least he can do is bring us something no matter how small, from that country".

Edith was so excited when Uncle returned with three huge boxes. However,her anticipation was short lived when her uncle refused to open any of the boxes, saying, "i only got things for my family".

Her expectation was cut short. Uncle couldn't even get us the popular sweet. i have seen it in their movies and was really looking forward to tasting it she said sadly

Everyone knew your Uncle wasn't going to bring anything, except you Edith.  you had so much expectations from him hence your disappointment her dad said.
