<center><h2>FELONY</h2></center>

It was a storm of swords manipulated by greed and envy. Hatred stood up to it and like a joking harlequin it mocked. Within the castle walls there was a rivalry that could not stop, and to make it more pitiful, it came from a noble fraternity, where two brothers competed to carry out the family inheritance.

Joseph and Augustine were twins, although almost alike in appearance, in personalities they were very different. There was no argument to compare their ideals and ways of seeing the world, for as they grew up, they sought different paths to cope with their lives. They were born under the yoke of the Marquisate of Sabgrum, ruled by a man devoted to his faith and cruel against the infidels. They were not blood sons of the marquis, but they were raised as if they were and, to make things official, it was already stipulated that one of them would take his place when he died.

The brothers had been preparing since they were conscious for that day, competing against each other in arduous trials. Each in his own way, of course, without losing the essence and true pleasure towards their goal. As they grew, so did their rivalry. Their hypocrisy was the mask for cordiality, accompanied by inner grudges and anxiety for treachery.

The awaited moment became posthumous, when the marquis was invited to the bordering trenches by the excitement, wishing to fight the infidel hordes that attempted against his faith. He donned his silver armor that legends told of its toughness, mounted his white steed and rode into battle.

Hours had passed of fearful tension, while the brothers each in turn awaited the arrival of their father, but only received the news that he had fallen in battle, seriously wounded by an arrow in the center of his chest. He arrived almost dying at the castle. The marquis was reluctant to die, for he did not want to leave everything he had built in the hands of the traitor of the faith. He was asked to choose an heir, but those words failed to sprout, and cold death plunged him into his kingdom forever.

Then came the war of succession between the brothers. Joseph was absolutely reluctant to lose to Augustine. He listened to the rumors of the vassals of the court and they asserted his brother's victory. In the hands of the pressure, he felt diminutive. A rising madness began to dominate him leading him to commit the highest of treasons.

On a fateful night, while the commands of insanity roamed in his mind, he took the sharpest and longest dagger he had in his arsenal, and while his brother was unsuspecting and alone in one of the corridors of the castle, he attacked him from behind inserting the sharp device, the crime would have remained an enigma but for a servant who witnessed it secretly in the dark. The news spread throughout the marquisate and Joseph was put behind bars in the dungeon.

It is said that at night he screamed in terror because of an evil presence that haunted him, and that, according to his own words, it was the ghost of his brother. The Marquisate of Sabgrum never knew another regent at that time, for, like swarms of flies on a cake, the infidels arrived and successfully invaded the castle.
