Adela and I watched the stars always united in our stellar spell. We had promised to go to them if our hearts still beat for each other. When her carmine eyes enraptured me, I felt the passionate desire to find the glory to infinity. My arms could not help but embrace her, for I felt I was on the cusp of our parting.

Adela was not of this world but of another, where moments rush with death. Where ideas are conjugated with others and then released in search of their horizon. And there, where actions seem magical, one finds an autonomy that is transparent to longings, and where its own inhabitants cannot find peace.

The night I met Adela, I was on the same hill observing the stars; I was making shapes and stories with them, when suddenly, a beam of light began to descend from the stars, and approaching me, I was blinded by its intense incandescent glow.

I opened my eyes slowly to realize that someone was coming out of the great sphere and, surprised, I submitted to the presence of that resplendent visitor. Her red eyes were the first thing I beheld, and as I stood close to her, I was mesmerized by the power of her gait. She held out her hand and it was white as ivory, and I took it trembling at first, but then my fears dissipated as her beautiful face stood before me.

I took her to my cabin and since then we shared a beautiful friendship. She told me about her world and the extraordinary things that happened there. She came from a race of conquerors who spread knowledge that provoked feelings. Humans to them we are appropriate allies because we also have the ability to feel, but our world was becoming dark eaten away by vague illusions.

One day, what I least expected happened. Adela and I fell in love despite being incompatible individuals from different worlds. She was all light, at times intangible and ethereal, coming from a celestial place. I was more mundane, more amenable to pleasures, with short knowledge and limited feelings, but despite our stark differences we made our relationship last.

We would embrace, gazing at the stars. She would utter promises of ascension to worlds unimaginable to me, I would bestow my eternal love, though my mortal body may deteriorate. We did nothing but promise each other, however, evil began to sprout.

One day, Adela had to return home, the stars were calling for her to fulfill her destiny. I took her arms melancholy with the insignificance of a being who cannot face such calamity. It seemed that I was witnessing her death, but she made me see that I should not worry and that soon I would be with her.

Now I watch the stars without her. Hundreds of shooting stars pass in front of my eyes waiting for Adela to finally come for me. I still write stories about her figure, because this way, I can miss her less.
