Color Challenge Monday Red

## Monday is Red...

I went downtown today to try to see the eclipse. That tale is for another post coming soon, but here are a few of the beautiful red things I spotted beneath the shadowed sun..

I don't remember the name of these beautiful red-leaved plants, but they are bursting out of the planters on the pedestrian mall.

When the eclipse first started, it had just begun to storm, so we retreated indoors for some frozen treats....mmm...the red is raspberry sorbet.

I'm still new to these color challenges, but they're a lot of fun, and I look forward to bringing you  more and better pics and stories as I continue to post all the colors of the week.

This last pic I wasn't sure if I should include, as I'm going to write a separate post about it, and it's more somber than the spirit of this challenge is intended to be. But the red was so vibrant against the white brick background - it seemed to be asking me to include it, and so I did. It's from the on-site memorial for Heather Heyer.

I have yet to write about what happened in Charlottesville, because I wasn't sure what to say. I'm still not sure, but I do want to write something, so that post will follow soon as well.

Hi @uniwhisp! I think the red leaves are coleus, or at least that's what we call them... That's a beautiful planter and lovely growth! And I don't mind the sorbet too!! ;)  Upvoted and resteemed
