It was an impacting hour [discussing web3 during an X Space](https://inleo.io/threads/view/anomadsoul/re-leothreads-2iwj9fj7x) session hosted by Web3 Global. The space featured representatives of key web3 projects contributing value as speakers. Hive Blockchain was well represented. Participating in the space show was very educating and we shared ideas that revealed much about the Hive Blockchain to all who attended.


While talking about web3 and how it can be best built to stir mass adoption, one of the speakers spoke about how web3 should be "built with humans in mind". This struck a cord in my heart and it appears that one of the reasons why the mass adoption of web3 tarries is that some of the use cases are so complex and have no direct way of solving human problems apart from promising outrageous wealth.

Looking at the depth and growth in the adoption of web2, we can all agree that barely 10 percent of the users are monetizing their use of web2 platforms. What I mean is that most of the users of web2 platforms do so because it helps them solve real-life problems, not because they're making money. Many use Facebook for instance because it is simple to use to reach out to friends and family. In Nigeria for instance, the use of Facebook is free, that is, a user may not need Internet data to send in text formats of information except for images and videos. Many people are already excited about that and can send information across to whomever they wish without worries.

The least of smartphone specifications can install Facebook and it can operate effectively. The average grandma out there can send in a picture and post with ease and she's excited it solved the proximity issue of reaching her family members and friends who are far away. We can do WhatsApp video calls and it saves us travel time and money to a far destination. The whole idea is that these web2 thriving apps and platforms are not making everyone rich, they just make it accessible to all and one small problem can be solved.

Over the years, we've pitched Blockchain and web3 projects and Dapps as platforms where people can make money. Most of these people have been scammed severely and would think of another scam or phone scheme coming. Alternatively, the real use cases of these Dapps that solve human problems aside from making them rich, should be the key focus of marketing content. This is how we would build web3 with humans in mind.


Recently, I've stopped telling people how they can make money on Hive, I rather project the fact that they can have fun in games, microblog, share videos, And have their contents immutable and irremovable against what happens on web2 platforms. I remember telling a pastor friend how he can store his weekly messages as Hive posts such that after a while, he can collate them for book compilation and it sounded so meaningful and important to him that the promise of earning some cryptos.

We've been asking for popular word games like Scrabble, Word Search, pinball, and others that people just play for fun on the Blockchain. What about soccer and racing games on blockchains? These would make more meaning as the people can relate easily. Let them worry that while engaging in the games, they discovered they could make money.


Put together, the immutability, transparency, and account ownership features of web3 and Blockchain projects should be louder on marketing stunts. Let's think of encouraging people to cooperate (esusu)with Hive dollars so that they can have a full view of their money transactions. Let's get them to use the Decentralized polling features for their school elections and pageantry, etc. This is how we would project the problem-solving face web3 projects to the masses and it'll gain more adoption.
