The team building Splinterlands have so structured their development that each new month opens up an opportunity to renew engagements on the game and that keeps players and investors alert and around for as long as possible. There is always a new development that makes buying a splinterlands game asset possible.


One of the latest development in the Splinterlands ecosystem is the Tower Defense game build. One aspect that really interests me with the development of Tower Defense game is that it has created a great and strong usecase for DEC and VOUCHER assets. First, at the presale and main sale of the TD packs, DEC and credits are accepted as payment for the SPLTD packs at a fixed rate of 1,000 DEC equalling $1.00 USD, while VOUCHERs will give a discount on pack purchases.

When the game unfolds, the team plans to offer ways to recharge the energy of towers, spells, and heroes by spending DEC. Again, VOUCHERs will offer a discount on these purchases. These utility are expected to help keep the DEC token as a stable currency of the splinterlands ecosystem while also helping VOUCHER gain some market traction.

Today, I [purchased 2 Splinterlands Tower Defense packs](https://hiveblocks.com/tx/8480f0092cbd7bf5ddebc79c0d757d3dc5288ce9) using DEC and VOUCHER for discounted buy. I paid 10k $DEC and 2 $VOUCHER for the purchase and that saved me about 6k DEC. The beautiful thing is that I purchased $DEC at around $0.0007 each.

Already, I have noticed a daily airdrop of some SPS from the reward pool for TD pack holders and it looks juicy, taking into consideration the number of TD packs I purchased earlier. Increasing my Tower Defense pack holdings means more SPOS rewards for as long as it can be and that would be added to my SPS stake while we await the active economics around the TD game. 

The investment opportunities around the splinterlands game keeps evolving and reinventing. Staying in touch is all one needs to do to maximize the opportunities. Hive is indeed underrated.

The year 2023 will be another big year for the Splinterlands ecosystem as many projects on build will go live such as the Tower defense game and Genesis League Goals. Meanwhile the opening of marketplace for Tower Defense would cause a boost in the DEC and VOUCHER markets and these makes these assets a good buy option presently.
