Microblogging has become the most recent  buzz in the internet following [Meta's launch of threads](https://leofinance.io/@uyobong/meta-copiously-create-threads-to-kill-twitter). Without a doubt, the need for a Twitter replacement has been long overdue with the serious of catastrophe rocking the microblogging giant in the last few months.

We can say Mark Zukerberg is a smart creator taking advantage of the moment of Twitter's woes to launch a rival app which he calls a "Twitter killer".  This is coming months after [LeoFinance](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-leofinance) has successfully launched a web3 version of Twitter on the [Hive](https://leofinance.io/@crypto-guides/what-is-hive-crypto-hive) [blockchain](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/blockchain) also known as [Threads.](https://leofinance.io/threads). It's rather sad the LeoFinance didn't secure the "Threads" domain name earlier but trust me, Meta's Threads could pave way for the advancement of Hive's Thread.


While many are hailing Mark for replicating Twitter, following a record 30 million signups in the first 24 hours, both Twitter and Meta's Thread are centralized and the later is not providing any better than the former since both are geared at getting data from its teaming users and doing with the data as it pleases the app developers.

## Not so with Hive's  Threads
It is difficult to be different in a world that everyone wants to do the same thing which requires little or no additional effort. LeoFinance and its developers  choose to be different with loads of creativity put in to create not just a decentralized version of Twitter, but a future "Everything App" visioned by Elon Musk. It is obvious that Elon Musk is bent at changing the narrative of Twitter to a financial and web generating app while Meta seeks to substitute it. 

Hive's Thread is a [web3 all in one app](https://leofinance.io/@uyobong/leo-the-unknown-allinone-web3-product) that puts together the functionality of Twitter, Reddit, Meta's Thread, Venmo, Zelle, etc. While users can send microblogs of "everything" they wish, users can also peer-reward each other thereby providing an fair module of wealth creation among users.


## Web2 Threads versus  Web3 Threads 
Meta's Threads is the **Web2 Threads** whearas, LeoFinance or Hive's Threads is the **Web3 Threads**. I have accounts running on both Threads and  earlier today I sent i n some Thread's on meta's (web2) which barely earned some good engagement. Few hours ago, I creates same contents on LeoFinance's Thread and the difference is just clear as to what a user can get from either side.

Below are screenshots of the posts created on Web2 Threads and on Web3 Threads, showing the engagements on each. Uniquely, the web3 Threads have an advantage - dollar rewards are added.

The above post created on Web2 Threads for over 12 hours ago fetched just three likes including mine. I had to like my post after many hours of no engagement. Same post created just an hour ago on web3 Threads also has 3 likes but with a whooping 14 Cents worth of rewards so far.

The above post on web2 thread earned no engagement yet but on web3, the engagement has made me 1 Cent richer. That could look smaller until I can create 100 of such in a day and I would be $1 richer.

On the above, despite adding an image, web2 Threads has 2 engagements including my like whereas web3 threads has 2 engagements without a like from me and already fetched 14 Cents too.


I will be doing more of this kind of iterations in the future to see how both Threads fare. Meanwhile, below is a pictorial explanation of the of the variation between the two shades of "Twitter killer app", one on web 2 and the other on web 3 infrastructure.

Let's watch out as events fare in the coming days. I would advice tat one could get on both Treads, as one could become a good platform to market the better one. Do well to follow me on Meta's Threads, please. We need more vissibility there to market Hive and Hive projects.
