What is Project Blank and What can you use it for?

There are a lot of contents out there with the mention of the word Project Blank and sometimes interchangeably with LeoThreads an LeoFinance. Despite that, many Hive users barely know or can be able to comprehend what is actually meant.  This post would attempt to explain to a lay man's understanding what Project Blank is, what it represents nd what a user can do with it.

## What is Project Blank?
[Project Blank](https://alpha.leofinance.io/) is the temporary name given to the [microblogging](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-microblogging) decentralized application that is built by the [Leofinance](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-leofinance) team. It is a short form content application built on the [Hive](https://leofinance.io/@crypto-guides/what-is-hive-crypto-hive) blockchain. Project Blank is otherwise called LeoThreads or new LeoFinance UI. The dapp is in its [alpha](https://alpha.leofinance.io/) stage of development where a handful of users engage it and give a feedback of the bugs or difficulties encountered while using the app.

Project Blank can be simply identified as a web3 version of "Twitter" on the blockchain". All of the data generated on Project Blank is all store on the Hive blockchain, using its open, decentralized database.

## What makes Project Blank a Microblogging Dapp?
Similar to what Twitter offers, the limit of characters that can be hosted in one "thread" is 240 max.  Links, photos, emojis, short videos, gifs, etc, can be added to enhance the content posted on Project Blank.

## What can you use Project Blank for?
Short form contents that can be posted on Project Blank include but not limited to: photos or collage of photos, info-graphic, a muse or thoughts, a shout out to family and friends, a breaking news, updates on live events, announcement on a new product, call for help, abridged report of an event, personal statuses, report on developing news stories, and more you can ever think of that is within 240 characters.

Besides, Project Blank can be used to store Crypto assets - $LEO, $HIVE, $HBD and other cryptocurrencies on the layer 2 of the Hive blockchain.

Project Blank can be used to trend a brand and hashtag like on Twitter. Communities can also be created on Project Blank.

## How can I get a Project Blank Account?
Project Blank is built on the Hive blockchain infrastructure, hence, a Hive account is needed to access Project Blank. All log ins and operations are tied to one's Hive account. Project blank shares all the features of the Hive blockchain. Contents are immutable, decentralized, autonomous, fast and tamper-proof.

## Does Project Blank support Free Speech?
**Yes!** This is because all project blank data are stored on the Hive blockchain. Such data can only be accessed or tampered using the private keys of the Hive account.
